I hope you are not referring to the River Rouge High School Band. They are the BEST!! LPHS Band should pay close attention to these youngsters. When it comes to talent, LP cannot compare to River Rouge.

oh no you didn't!! I hate to sound like a teen. But that band, my band, is one of the best downriver. Don't ever ever talk bad about it! You don't know the situation with parades! We are playing at the baseball field decation on Friday. Come and see us rock! We have won many awards. River Rouge, they are not a traditional marching band. Have you seen their dancers? They feel like they have to 'hump the air' in order to win over the audience! Have you noticed that they are off step? One of the key factors in a marching band. I'm
 to sound like a over reacted whiney teen. But the band is so close to my heart that I almost started crying when I read what you wrote. We do so much for this city. Talent....our band is soo full of talent. Come to our May 13 concert. Which features FOUR of our bands, concert, symphonic, jazz, and our percussion essemble APEAL. Please don't bad mouth them.......what did they do to you besides serve our wonderful city? Again, I hope I don't mean to offend.....just had to jusitfy my band.

Then why does the River Rouge band win prizes at the LP Memorial Day Parade and the LPHS band wins nothing?
Why does the River Rouge band go into the park and play while people leave the parade to listen to this band. Meanwhile, the LPHS band gets to the end of the parade and goes back home. Their home parade and yet it is the River Rouge band that is entertaining the audience. The LPHS band is a nice band, but it cannot compare with River Rouge. I thank you.

Well maybe not at our parade, but we have won Taylor and Wyandotte every year that we have part took in it. The people judging it just look for their goofy windsuits and their weird dances, not their music. We perform before the parade starts.

I can't believe that you are a Lincoln Park ciziten and can't support your own band. Lincoln Park has worked very hard and we are one of the top bands downriver. Everyone has there different styles of marching. LP Marching band has won Trenton's best narching unit for almost 4 years and mayor's choice for 2 years...(at esle those were the numbers when I was in the band) I am not sure why I got soo heated about this... I am just posting on a message board to people i don't know. If you have any question feel free to respond... |
