City of Lincoln Park Michigan Building Department

The Building Department personnel are required to perform their assigned job duties as outlined below.

    City of Lincoln Park Mi Planning Commission meetings are held every first Tuesday of the month.  All applications are required to be submitted thirty days prior to the meeting date.


    City of Lincoln Park Mi Rental Properties are required to be registered every year and inspected every two years.


    City of Lincoln Park Mi Zoning Board of Appeals meetings are held every third Thursday of the month. All applications are required to be submitted thirty days prior to the meeting date.


    City of Lincoln Park Mi Commercial Properties are required to obtain a certificate of occupancy.  Application must be made before operating the business.


    City of Lincoln Park Mi Dangerous Building Board & Code of Appeals (review the Lincoln Park City Charter 1422 for more details) meets every three months or as needed.  Properties that are deemed dangerous are submitted to the board for appropriate action.

    City of Lincoln Park Mi Inspections for electrical, mechanical and plumbing permits are performed in the mornings between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.

    Structural permit inspections are performed between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

    Please call this department to confirm inspection times as these are subject to change.


    City of Lincoln Park Mi Permits are required for most types of home repairs/alterations. Contractors are required to register their license and insurance prior to pulling permits.

    Inspection fees are based on the square footage of the building as follows:

    Not exceeding 2,000 sq. ft. = $150.00
    2,001 - 5,000 sq. ft. = $200.00
    5,001 - 10,000 sq. ft. = $250.00
    over 10,000 sq. ft. = $300.00



    City of Lincoln Park Mi Rental Inspection Rates (payable every three years and subject to change at any time)
       = $210.00 for first unit
       = $50.00 for any additional unit
