Question for Councilman Murphy - Who approved the Riverdrive Project
The Detroit News reported the $1 million grant money the city received for road construction will be used for a total reconstruction of River Drive. Is this true? I do not remember the city voting on this project. If this was approved, when was it approved?

Im not Tom Murphy but I hope I will do . We have not voted on this yet but was one of a few things we talked about doing with the money. One thing is clear River Drive needs it. |

If river drive is rehab or re const it would be cool and goodfor Lincoln Park to make a bike lane and tie it in to the “Michigan Greenways Trail”-electrical bikes are gone to be the way of transportation before we know it. |

Re: Question for Councilman Murphy - Who approved the Riverdrive Project
River Drive definately needs it. It has got to be one of the worst roads in Lincoln Park! As far as a bike lane is concerned...I think it's a great idea. But only in theory. Too many people treat River Drive like it was their own personal I-75. Just wait until after the road is repaved...it's going to bear an uncanny resemblance to the German Autobahn!

Well thats for the police to take care of. Lets get the road repaved before I lose a tire. I travel that road a lot and its no wonder i need a front end alignment at least twice a year. I've seen the police sitting at river drive and mill before hiding back on mill behind some bushes. There are always people blowing thru the stop sign and I bet they caught a lot. |

I thought Greenways was dead. LP couldn't come up with the matching funds and thus they lost the grant.

According to our Elected Officials, we are BROKE. We have no money for matching funds and we have no money for walkways. |

Can't we raise the money when matching funds are required? Can't we get our non-profit groups involved to assist for some of this stuff? |

Just asking a question here but were any of the funds that were used on the two unapproved streets of Cloverlawn & Capital slated for this street? |

Re: Question for Councilman Murphy - Who approved the Riverdrive Project
I would think if a couple more stop signs were added on River Drive it would slow down the speeders (somewhat) and not use it as if it was I-75?
