Did anyone drive by The Exodus last night?
I was on my way home last night and drove by The Exodus. I said to myself, what the XXXX? It was like a biker party, nothing but people, bikes and lawn furniture. Granted I have nothing against bikers, but this was too much. How do they expect to do any business if the whole parking lot is nothing but lawn furniture and people out there partying? On a normal day they just have chairs set up in the parking lot to sit outside. My aunt was supposed to come over for dinner last night, after a while I called her when she didn't show up. She said that she turned into the turn around from north bound Fort to south bound Fort and she got scared when she saw that and went back home. She is a very timid person and I don't blame her one bit. I think my property values just dropped considerably. What's next, a bbq pit in the middle of the grass between the building and Fort St.?

Robbie where is the Exodus located? Last night about 7:00 ish a bunch of motorcycles came up London to Dix. I would say there were at least a dozen of them. Is this located near the Exodus and what is the Exodus?

The Exodus is at the corner of Fort and Stewart maybe, right across the street from the diver shop. It's a Christian biker book store. |

I posted something about all the bikes in front of Chesleys and how intimidating that looks. Got flamed pretty bad about it from people thinking I was putting down people who ride bikes. That was not the point. The point is a bunch of bikes out front is very intimidating and a restaurant will lose business because the gramma's would be scared to death to drive by let alone go in. Exodus has to find their own niche in order to be successful. My only fault with them was they were not too great at keeping their walk shoveled during the winter. They sit on a corner lot and rarely shoveled the walk on the side of the building.

Take it easy guys the Exodus is a Christian book store that has a big Christian biker following they have helped many people get away from the old biker mentality of booze drugs, fighting and Sex!!! Many of them are reformed Druggies and Alcholics at least this is what I was told, the bikers their have a nice place to gather and drink coffee and pop and even a small band will play inside on a friday or Sat. People should not be so paranoid stop in and talk to them, check out their bikes, checkout what kind of charity runs they have. Rocky |

Rocky, no one is getting excited that I can tell. Robbie is saying you can't get into the parking lot due to all the lawn furniture. From what I am reading in the post, Robbie is wondering if this is a normal course of business. If they are parking on the street (not in the lot) and taking away parking from other businesses, they are not going to be well liked. Would you like the flower shop to have the street constantly filled with vehicles so that your customers cannot park? And I still say that bunch of motorcycles parked in front of a business has an intimidating look. It may only be a perception, but it is a perception that many go by. |

Also I was just messing with Robbie, but I seriously don't think he has to worry about his property value dropping, in fact the fact that the building is no longer empty is more likely to increase! Rocky |

I say don't knock it till ya try it. I also say that Bikers are the most loyal friends and all around good people if you know them. Besides, part of what our site is about is breaking down barriers and allowing people to learn more about thier community. Perhaps some of these guys will join and tell us about thier book store.

Today's biker is different than years ago. Lots of your corporate executives are weekend bikers. Visteon, several years ago, did a charity bike ride. It was a lot of top executives including several VP's that participated in this bike ride. Looking at the photograph of the group you wouldn't of ever known what they did for a living. Our group director's admin, at Ford, just got herself a Harley. The reason - so many of her girlfriends got Harley's and were riding on the weekend while she sat at home by herself. |
