Not to cause undo embarasment or bashing to Mr Vaslo, but does anyone know the cause of this speach impediment. I know a few people who do this all the time.

I can think of two reasons that may cause it:

1: Not sure of what they are saying or the validity of it-lack of confindence

2: Hesitant to say what they want to convey, because they are thinking of what the receiver of their words may be thinking.

I think a speach therapist could help those inflicted with this annoying habbit.

You guys are real picky, I never noticed anything wrong with Vaslo OR Vals voice.

The only thing I noticed is Vaslo is very loud, but thats no biggie, I have a very good friend I grew up with that is the same way. It sounds like he is screaming at you when he is right next to you, but its just the way he talks.

Using Umm.. to gather ones thoughts, not good public speaking. Valso even tried last night to double umm.. us, but we caught it. He cant hide the fact that he has a difficult time speaking in public, trying to look smarter than he is.

In public speaking college courses and probably in high school public speaking classes, umm is not a good thing to do. It is said that happens when people either loose their train of thought due to nervousness, or because they aren't necessarily telling the truth or are trying to exaggerate.

I doubt that Vaslo is nervous, it appears he practices his material for the most part. I would tend to believe it is more due to lying or exaggerating, combined with his mouth getting ahead of his brain.

Hey Jujitsu, it sounds like your're taking these jabs at Vaslo personally, any particular reason for that? Save it, I already know the answer to that question.

If you would have read my post, I first stated that I didn't want to cause undue bashing or embarrassment to Vaslo but wonder what causes this impediment. You did not offer any insight or knowledge in reference to my question, but you did make assumptions of the intent of my post.

I think some of the members on this forum are just plain stuffy.

This thread regarding Mr Vaslo using Um..uh..um was obviously created in jest. It was not meant as a serious criticism, only a playful tap.

We you people get as upset at Jay Leno or David Letterman when they poke jabs at President Bush or other officials/celebrities.

All the controversy over how the council dresses. Again, all done for humor sake, yet some people had to take it seriously.

Some of you people are headed for a massive heart attack if you do not learn to relax and smile once in a while.

With all the controversy that has gone on between Brady and Vaslo . There are people that want him out of office. They will comment negatively when they can. The new camera system is providing shots we at home never experienced before. Vaslo and Brady are shown more often than before and what they do during meetings . .

I was referring to the topic itself. Many members were objecting to this thread, siting how we were making a personal attack on Mr Vaslo. I was pointing out it was only meant as a joke.
