new strip mall?
I've heard that a new strip mall is going to be built where the ponderosa and donut place property is, anyone know anything about that or is it just a rumor? |

If we don't get a reply here I'll ask when I go to the next Cruise Committee Meeting if anyone has heard anything about this.

Well, that is great that someone bought the properties! The Jelly Donut has been empty for ages! I hope they go in a different direction than Strip Mall tho, if that was one of thier options, unless they have some unique tenants lined up. |

I relate another strip mall as another hole in the head.

I think a new Strip Mall would do great if it has plenty of parking and is built with some class like the one in Eureka and Fort, or the one on Biddle where Stroh's Ice Cream moved, we are looking at the building 2 doors down from Strohs 1300 sq ft, with a nice out door sitting area, and the price is pretty good about $15 Sq Ft includes Triple Net thats not bad, the samething in Ann Arbor id going for $26 Sq Ft and Northville was about $22 Rocky |

Glad to see this monstrosity is coming down. Ponderosa is an excellent place and will be sorry to see it leave LP. What about Dix and Goddard? I thought the City approved a site plan to bring in a strip mall there? They still need to tear down the old Big Boys building. It is a disgrace. The wife and I often eat at Cameo Restaurant which is right across Goddard from the old Big Boy property. I hate to even look over there. I remember how active the place was back in the 60s and even up until it closed. The place closed up supposedly for "remodeling" around 2000 and never re-opened. The gutters fell off the place a couple years ago. There is so much water damage that it has to be torn down. But before they tear it down they have to "evict" the homeless guy who lives there.

Mr. Magoo, I was watching the news this weekend and the Owner of LaShish in Dearborn is in trouble with the law. His son is being tried for murder. I don't think we need that kind of people here.

I do not care for LaShish. I hope this means we will get a more popular style restaurant at this corner. |
