Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
Mr Vaslo, since you do not work for a living, I am curious as to what time you get up in the morning? What cleaner do you use to mop the kitchen floor? How often do you vacuum? How much ironing do you do in a week?

It would drive me crazy to sit home all day. I'm thinking of how retirement is going to be in about 5 years or so. After you complete little projects around the house you never used to have time for, what do you do? Watch soaps, game shows and Dr Phil? |

i think Mr. Vaslo is an ignorant, egotisical, pompous donkeys butt, but being a house husband got to be hard work. Lets give him a break on his household obligations. This job is just as important as any other real job |

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
Mr. Vaslo's personal situation is nobody's business but his own. My mother and my wife will tell you that homemaker is a full time job and it ain't easy! If Mr. Vaslo is the homemaker of the family so be it. I'm personally gald I didn't ahve to do it myself. I give him credit. DISCLAIMER: I am not endorsing Mr. Vaslo, and as a matter of fact disagree with his politics on several issues That being said I say that Magoo is once again simply being rude. Not that Frank doesn't have some thumpings coming, it certainly should not be because he is "Mr. Mom" Rather it should be about his position on city issues or on the lit he sent out.

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
You guys are really something, for as much as I don't like the man, whats wrong with him taking care of the house, I do the laundrey all the time, I cook most of the time because, I am better at it then my wife, I help clean the house all the time, whats the big deal???? It would be dfferent if Frank, laid around the house all day drank beer and did nothing, then expected his wife to come home and do all the house work, but seriously doubt he does that. Frank has enough "REAL POLITICAL" issues I can pick on him for, to attack him personally because he is a stay at home dad. I'll bet half of you men out here would stay at home if you had the choice and wife made the kind od money that could support you and the familly. What if your wife made twice as much as you did, and you had the choice of stay at home with your kids, so they would not have to be with a baby sitter, or make your wife quit her job so she could stay at home and your familly would have to live on half the salery???? What would you do?? Rocky |

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
Come on, everyone. This is a very offensive thread. There is nothing wrong with anyone being a mom or dad that stays home. More power to them that they are giving up material things from the extra income to make sure the children are being raised with a full time mom or dad.

I do woodworking projects ,and am currently developing decorative& functional items for the house ,. counter shelves ,towel hooks, candle shelves, plant shelves. Have made over $8,000 2 times with a Mouse in one hand and a swifter or dish towel in the other, and still find time to checkout the latest posts from the 's version of Andy Rooney ,the Domestically Challenged MR Magoo. Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
Dang. I guess it is the 21st century and things are changing. So here's my question: What lady wants to take me out to dinner and a movie? She can pick me up at 8:00...but she must open doors for me or the deal is off. If we hit it off well enough, maybe she will ask me to marry her!

Veritas--maybe posts like these are a reflection of your personality and explain why no one wants to date you? :P Heh heh. But seriously, if you REALLY want a woman, play it up for the cameras at the council meetings. I mean, really play it up. In all seriousness, I think that stay-at-home moms don't receive the credit that they deserve. Somewhere along the line, pop stopped being the money-maker and mom stopped being the manager of the house. In the 21st century, mom is suppose to be both employee and mom of the year, and she's to be a 36-24-34 to boot. My mom baby-sat when she could to earn money--otherwise, she's a stay-at-home mom and has been ever since the birth of my older brother. I'm really glad that she did that. Everyone's always sitting around griping about how horrible Lincoln Park's kids are. I've met some of these kids. I've been the acquaintance and the friend of some of these kids. The common problem? Dad (or dad and mom) were so buried in their work that the kids could get away with everything--and no one cared. The parents who are busy with work tend to neglect their kids--and everyone's shocked when the kid's suddenly snorting coke in some strangers' house. On top of baby-sitting, my mom handles just about everything. I pitch in a little too, but for the most part, she handles the laundry, the dishes, the sweeping, the vaccuuming, all of the driving (she's always driven me to school), she cares for my grandpa (who has Alzheimer's), she runs errands for my grandma, she mops, manages all of the bills, everything. When I'm home in the evenings, I have someone to talk to and get advice from. I'm never home alone and I love it. My mom deserves a salary (and unfortunately, I can't give it to her). To be honest with all of you? My mom is the only parent that I am actually close. She is the only parent who is actively involved in my life. My dad works a fairly consistent forty-hour week, though more and more lately, he's been slacking off and letting those hours slip to the low 30's. In the four years that I have been in marching band, he has not been to a single football game even when he has had time off and been capable of coming. He has been to one actual band concert at the high school in the four years that he's been there. In all the years that I've been going to school, he has driven me to school twice. As much as I love and respect my dad, he has been more of an acquaintance to me than a parent. Even though he has a 23-year-old son, he still behaves as if this parenting concept is new to him. Maybe he's got the same mentality that seems to linger here; that mothers and fathers are 'lesser' people if they stay home to look after the house or children. Somehow this decision makes someone appear weak and uneducated, rather than a person who is devoted to something important. I think that anyone who can look beyond a material gain to care for something important should be rewarded. I also don't know why Mr. Vaslo's decision to look after the house is so important in this campaign decision. Magoo, this is an unnecessary, mud-slinging thread. |

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
Hold it, hold it, hold it. Let me make this perfectly clear. I have all the respect in the world for stay at home moms. I think all married women should be stay at home moms, even if they don't have any children. I do not have much respect for stay at home dads. Everybody at some point will lose their job and be forced to be at home until they find another. Most men are embarrassed and do whatever they can do find another job. But then we have other men who want to be able to stay at home while their wife goes off to work. To those who stay home and watch the children and keep the house, my hat is off to them. Let's admit it, many of our Stay At Home Dads are nothing more than lazy people. |

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
On the other hand, Magoo doesn't care about having an unpopular opinion. Magoo states his opinion(s) and lets the pieces fall where they may I saw a small clip today of a news conference with Ronald Reagan. He was talking about unemployment. He said the problem wasn't that there was not enough jobs. He said the problem was that too many women were "wanting" jobs and that took away from men "needing" jobs. He said if women would stay at home there would be plenty of jobs to go around. I am sure Magoo stood up and cheered. |

Re: Question for Mr Vaslo. What time do you get up in the morning?
I don't care for Mr. Vaslo as a politician, but I don't know what his personal situation is, maybe he's on disability or his wife wanted a career and he's staying at home so she can persue it, maybe he does want to work and can't for some reason or another. to tell you the truth I really don't care if he works at an outside job or if he's a stay at home Dad. I really don't see what that has to do with his work on the city council. I'm not going to vote for him because he's a lousy councilman not because he doesn't have a job outside the home. |
