Question for Ms. Brady
I noticed you were on this morning around 9:00 am. Perhaps you missed a post that I've bumped a couple times in which I'm asking the true blue people to express their plans to revitalize downtown LP. Is there some reason why you have chosen not to respond? I am very embarrassed about that downtown area. When people come to visit me who have never been to LP, I give them directions to my house even they are out of the way just so they don't run into the downtown area. You and your team claim they will work for the residents of LP. What is your action plan to revitalize the downtown area. Surely the true blue team has discussed this dire issue. |

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
I noticed you haven't posted your action plan either Jujitsu. Are you happy with how you placed in this election? And please spare us the rhetoric about who you aren't, remember most of us have an IQ over 10. |

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
Mr. Primo, this will be the last time I say this: I did run in this election. What are you smoking, pal. I am not on the council nor do I wish to ever be on the council. Thank you. |

This is a great question, but I would like to know what Kandas really has been doing. He talks allot during council meetings, but I see no results. Isn't he the liason in this area? |

It comes down to either working the public or working for the public.

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
I typed so fast I forgot to add the word "not". I would like to know what plans Kandes, DiSanto, Higgins and Vaslo and Brown have for the revitalization too. The only chance we have on ylp is for a reponse from Higgins. |

Well I can say this.... Kandes: has passed ordinances to improve the renting conditions in our city. Also, the inspect before you sell ordinance, which I am not crazy about, but should cause some imporvements. DiSanto: has caught many slip ups by city contractors. He has saved the taxpayers a lot of money. The Firetruck incident was just last Monday. He has also built and sold high quality homes in LP. Higgins: was the driving force behind the business expo. He has been the most proactive in recruting new business to LP. He his very active in his role as School District Liason. Vaslo: ?????????????????????????? Brown:?????????????????????????? |

Or as I like to ask: Public servant or self-servant? Being a public servant means serving the CITIZENS to the best of your ability. If you want to be a self-servant, be an entepreuner (sp?). America is full of choices and if you choose to be a public servant, I expect you to work for the public! Someone that is committed to the community, not to themselves. Since this thread was directed to Ms. Brady, I will add one more opinion. I have been watching her career as a public servant for almost two years. She is true to her community. She is human, and will make errors just like the rest of us. Her good efforts far outweigh any error she may have made in her quest for a better community. Kudos to you Ms. Brady. Keep up the good work and good luck to you in November.

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
Well all I can say is... if Val loses in November because of the cell phone issue and because of all the garbage that has been swung her way then shame on you citizens of LP!!!! I'm not even a citizen of LP and I can see what she has in the past two years just from watching the meetings, talking to other citizens and city workers. She got a raw deal but she held her head up high and now it just means she might just have to get out there and fight for what should be her's and that's a seat on the City Council. To lose her would be a waste for the city of LP. So I for one want to encourage you Val to fight for what you want and for what the City needs and that's someone like you that cares for her city and for it's people. I will do anything I can to help you with your campaign and if praying is all you need right now then it's a done deal. Good luck and God Bless You. |

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
I agree. I think Val Brady is an asset to our community. I despise Vaslo for two reasons: 1) He is a worthless waste of space on the council 2) He lies about and slanders one of the best council people we have. He does it because he is selfish. He does it because she poses a threat to him. Well Vaslo, our council is not your playground. She's more valuable to this city than you could ever hope to be. Worry more about yourself and stop your gutter propoganda campaign. You have a lot to learn about politics if you ever hope to run for State Representative again, son. It's no wonder you got slapped around like a red-headed stepchild in your last attempt. But do us all a favor, huh? Go learn how to be a politician in someone elses city. |

Re: Question for Ms. Brady
There is no quick fix to revitilizing Fort St it takes time The Fort St Brewery is a good example . burned out building ,declared dangerous ,torn down , lot sold <and finally a new business .new building There is another lot currently going through the same process. Kandes worked on plans and was active in the process before being elected. New Homes on vacant lots in the north=end ,habitat for humanitycoming in . working with Higgins and the schools to refurbish and build new homes. This was all the work of the different agencies . DDA ,dangerous building board , building dept. ,School Board.,Planning Commision, and City Attorney.Fire Dept. . all working together to improve the area. There is no Drive thru window . to get projects like these completed. You have to get off your chair and address these issues to all the groups. they all play an important role in getting it done. The recent rejection of the Planning Commision of a Gas Station if proof they all are working in our best interest. He probably spend a lot of time attending meetings like Higgins does with his groups .That is why they were #1and #2 in the primary. The voters see them participate and advise other voters. They want A Council that tries to cover all the bases not 1 .
