 WHO LIED Councilman Frank Vaslo or News Herald Reporter Jason Alley: was the: "Is Vaslo misrepresenting himself to the voters?" topic
According to the State of Michigan department responsible for licensing real estate agents, Vaslo is not a licensed agent. If that is so, and I believe it, then that would mean, at least to me, that Vaslo allegedly lied in his response to the News Herald profile of candidates, if he stated he was a self-employed real estate agent. IMHO, no surprise there. What's more typical is the News Herald once again didn't do their homework. No surprise there either. |

At tonights council meeting, Oct 24th, Mr Vaslo had a chance to answer the question about him being a self-employed real estate agent. He was asked by two citizens of Lincoln park and didn't not answer the question. But did remark about his "stay-at-home-dad" decision he and his wife decided on. I myself have no problem with him being a stay at home dad, but why didn't he answer the question about him being a self employed real estate agent. He had a chance to clear that up if the News papers got it wrong. Integrity goes a long way. It's hard enough to trust a politician but to ignor the question leaves me the impression that the articles in the paper are false. How can I, or you trust someone making decisions that affect us all if one tries to mislead us.

I agree MQM. If he is a stay at home dad, why did he tell the NH he was in real estate? I don't mind people embellishing clothing, but careers, that's another matter.

I think Mr Vaslo wanted to appear as if he worked for a living. So he came up with the ole "self employed" ploy. The problem is, he picked the wrong field. He should have said he was a landscaper. Everyone can claim they are a landscaper, even if they are only mowing their own lawn. By claiming to be a Self Employed Real Estate AGENT, he made a serious political blunder.

And, EXACTLY what has he done (really done) for the city? Likewise, I don't put him down for being a stay-at-home dad. Good for them if they can work with this set-up. |

I agree, Mr. Vaslo only had to speak up. No one said anything about his stay at home stuff. He was obviously trying to turn the attention away from the real estate agent question.

Where did he say he was a Real Estate Agent? If he did say that, and he is not an agent, it smacks of the Schermesser mess about having a college degree when she did not. Seems kind of parallel to me. TGND

It takes more than a self-proclaimed title to actually be able to do this. That's like me calling myself a doctor or a lawyer...without having attained the proper credentials. Trivia Question: What other city official claimed to have credentials that he never acquired? |
