How are people supposed to join a neighborhood watch, start a new one, or get the details on Angels Night if no one will call you back? I have left 2 messages with CPW and explained, in detail, the information that I would like to get from them. NO CALLS BACK! WILL TRY 3RD ATTEMPT TODAY! Very Very Sad to Me!

Re: Citizens Patrol Watch - so sad :(
CPW and Neighborhood Watch are two separate things. The are both part of Community Policing. There was a guy at the podium on Monday night giving the details regarding the Angel's night patrol. Angel's night patrol is on Angel's night (Sunday the 30th). Get there by 5pm. They usually have a meeting before going out on patrol. Their building is on Cleophus behind the Library. THe street is torn up so it might be best to park in the parking lot on Southfield and walk across. I went out with them three or four years ago. It was a lot of fun. I didn't need anyone to call me. I just showed up at the time they said to show up. They held a quick meeting on what you can and cannot do. |

Re: Citizens Patrol Watch - so sad :(
Paul - I was going out, but unfortunately, I feel I need to stay home and watch my home & cars. Due to some recent police activity regarding my neighbors, I want to stay home and watch my own stuff. I will definetely keep an eye out on the entire street. I'll probably be on my porch with my husband. But I just can't leave my home after what has happened. I posted the following in another area: On several occasions the police have told the people I have called on that I called. Why is that? Anyone? How are we suppose to feel safe if they are telling the "Bad Guys" who is calling on them? When I have wanted to remain anonymous, they told me that they never disclose that information to the people you are calling about. Even at the neighborhood watch meeting that was said by the officer. So, it is obvious that they are NOT supposed to be doing that. Why would they? Why would they make me feel unsafe? Why would they jeopardize my house, cars and family? We don't know what these people are capable of doing. I've reported them for drug traffiking, child neglect and child abuse. Whose to say they would retaliate against me???? Please someone tell me something to make me feel better about this. I am so upset and frustrated. How are we supposed to have an effective neighborhood watch, if the bad guys are told who is calling on them. I think that would only make matters worse! |

I heard they can't miss it. I heard by a little birdie that she's going to be streaking up and down the street. ![]()

Re: Citizens Patrol Watch - so sad :(
Everyone is doing a great job!!! I was out and about and I saw a few vans patrolling with flashy yellow lights atop their cars and I thought it was great! Another thing is... a few of my friends were out painting the school rock -- not me, of course. I would NEVER. :] But somebody came into the parking lot with their van and flashy light as these friends of mine were leaving just to check things out and scare away anybody who's doing something bad. If anybody thinks they were doing anything bad, I'll have to say that they're silly... because these friends of mine who did it have pictures of the rock and it is the cutest thing ever. ![]() ![]()

A guy across the street has confronted my husband twice and said that the police told him we have called. I kind of blew that off, because he is a drunk. But just recently, a little girl about 10 asked if we called the police on her and the kids next door. I said "no why?". She said they told them I did. So I probed a bit further into it. She told me that the police told them that I called because they were playing in front of my house. That really upsets me. Not only did I not call because they were playing in front of my house, I called because of the kids being left alone next door. The girl just happen to be playing with them. A 10 and 3 year old alone - as usual. The 10 year old boy rides his bike with his buddy across the street while the 3 year old stands and watches, cries and runs up and down the street. Of course not properly dressed for the cold. So I feel that not only did they point out who called, but they even lost the importance of the call and lowered it to kids playing in my yard???? I'm pretty sure I would never call the police for kids playing in front of my house. I've called so many times for the kids being alone, to the police and child protective services, I wish something would happen. I don't know when CPS comes out, what they do, but for some reason the police haven't seen a problem with it, I guess. I've even reported that another woman, other than the mother, lives there, and I'm about 99% sure that I saw a drug exchange go down. Is it going to take someone getting hurt, or kidnapped for something to happen? I wish I knew. But in the meantime, I guess I just have to demand to remain anonymous and give my cell phone number if they need any further information. I don't want to risk the saftey of my family and home, over something like this. |

wow! I thought maybe the people told you that they were given your name just to see how you would react. I'd be worried too. |

You should change the title of your thread/post. I thought they did an excellent job this year. I saw plenty of orange flashers on my street. |

Neighborhood Watching & Other Stuff :)
Oh, I truly think the CPW is great. I didn't know I could change the thread name. Hopefully, what I'm about to do will work. I'm kinda new at this. But thanks. I was upset for about a day regarding the CPW. Now that I know how it runs, all is okay! Plus, I've signed up myself to volunteer whenever I am able. But anyway... Yes it is a bit frightening when people who make you nervous as it is, approach you regarding police paying them a visit. But, ya know, all I can do is just deny it. I will never admit it, because I know that it will only cause more problems. Until then, I will say that I don't know what they're talking about. Maybe the police are being more vague and the neighbors are trying to trap me into admitting it. Who knows. I just go about my business and don't make eye contact with them. I did catch another monster hitting my wires from my house that go to the pole with a hockey stick or something. I did get to blow off some steam by making him accountable for his actions. I named several things that I've caught him and his friends doing and asked how his parents would like it if I came to his house and destroyed their property. He said with a smirk that they'd call the police on me. When I gave him the option of me continuing to speak to him myself or call the police on him all the time, he said that if the police is called on him one more time he will go to juvenile hall. So I reminded him that I have windows and I see and hear when they are messing with my property. And unless he wants me at his parents door next time or calling the police that he should think twice when it comes to doing anything to my house or yard. I think after about 5 or 10 minutes of a lecture, maybe he got the point that I'm not messing around. I tell you what though, I felt so much better when I came back inside. I feel so helpless sometimes, thinking if I yell at someone elses kids, that it may make their parents freak out on me. But I wasn't yelling, only raising my voice a bit, and never swore or called him names. So I think I handled it pretty well! |

I'M SO EXCITED! MY NASTY NEIGHBORS MOVED! It was very sudden, they literally moved out everything yesterday! They didn't go too far, cause their trips to drop off stuff and come back for more was short. So I hope they don't move in by any of you! But at least they are gone from here! Woo Hoo |
