About a year ago, Councilman Vaslo verbally attacked IheartLp after a city council meeting. Frank was upset about a pictorial I ran in the forums.

The pictorial was a series of pictures of the council with crooked neckties. The pix were taken off Brown's website.

I included a picture of Vaslo, but his tie was not crooked. He was wearing a Doublebreated Suit. I placed a caption under the picture saying "I thought Doublebreasted went out with Three's Company"

I guess ole Frank is a little sensitive about his lack of style. From what I heard, Mike Higgins took it good naturedly. He joked with Iheart and asked if his tie was on straight.

Frank did not take it so kindly. WHen then meeting was over he came over to Iheart and started yelling at her about the picture and the joke caption.

The pictorial was completely my doing. Iheart and the Moderators had nothing to do with it. Why Vaslo took it out on her remains a mystery. I guess he is just super sensitive.

So I wonder, did Vaslo eventually apologize. Frank Sall would get angry and things, but he always apologized to someone he was rude to. Vaslo said at last Monday's Council Meeting that he wished someday to have "Half" the class that Frank Sall had.

I felt bad and still do that Iheart took the brunt of the anger that should have been directed at me. I even felt bad that Vaslo was so upset with the picture. It was not mocking him. It was just a little humor. He has to grow a little thicker skin if he wants to be in the public eye. But I do apologize if he felt it meant to humiliate him.

So I ask,. does he have half the class of Frank Sall? Has he apologized?

Councilman Vaslo saw the thread. As I remember he called Robin to complain and she pulled it when she saw how angry he was. No one else was angered. Most thought it humorous. As Flash said, Higgins in particualr took it good naturedly. When Higgins saw Iheart he said "Hey Amanda, is my tie on striaght?" That is the way you handle situations, with class.

I viewed the thread as nothing more than a "political cartoon" It was really poking fun at those with crooked ties. Councilman Vaslo's picture was just a silly comment.

Had I thought it was meant to humiliate any of the elected officials, I would have deleted it, but as I said, I saw it as nothing more than a political cartoon. The pictures were taken from the city's official website. They were not pictures taking in a candid moment.

It took almost a year, but the city finally replaced the amateurish "snapshots" with better pictures.

Vaslo knows what he did without coming to the site. After all, He did That. Unless he has Amnesia, he knows he went off on me after a council meeting..so I'm not sure why he would need to come to the site in order to know that he did that. As far as him knowing the Flash was for it, and that I didn't have anything to do with it...I tried to explain it to him that night. Actually, we took the photo down within a half hour of it going up but he would not give me half a second to state anything to him about it. He yelled, and marched off...and that was that.

I didn't hold that against him. It took several other exhibitions of disdain for our website before I finally just gave up on Vaslo. I don't begrudge the guy...but I have given up trying to be amicable because it has gone nowhere all this time. So I just have this ok then attitude. I can still show up for a function and be around him and interact...but I'm not going home crying because he (and others) aren't fond of me, this site..etc.

There's alot of behind the scenes stuff that I Know about (not referring specifically to Vaslo) that contribute to my feelings on this and other issues...but I don't wanna get into that. I go forward, trying to remain the bubbly yet assertive young person that I am while at the same time not being as Naive as I once was about some of the people in and around city hall. That's all I will say about that.

Vaslo is an angry small man. Talk about someone who is scary. Look at how red in the face he gets if something doesn't go his way. He looks like he wants to strike whoever has offended him. The way that he treated Iheart over the double brested suit incident and the way he continually tries to belittle Val Brady is disgusting. For a year to have passed and him to not even acknowledge his actions or apologise shows the disrespect he has towards others.

Nanlynker, I make it no secret that Vaslo is not my favorite elected official, but I would never intentionally hurt anyones feelings. I did not edit the photos, I only used what was posted on the city's website. It was meant only as a small joke. The crooked neckties were something I felt should have been taken care of by whoever was taking the photos. Why didn't this person make sure they were looking their best.

As far as Vaslo and the doublebreasted suit. I heard the line on "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" They found doublebreasted suits in some guys closet and remarked that doublebreasted suits went out with Three's Company. I laughed because I wear double breasted suits. When I saw the photo of Vaslo is a doublebreasted, I couldn't resist.

Again, if I hurt his feelings then I do apologize. I would never tease anyone because of their appearance. But if it ticked him off because he thinks he should not be criticized, then I do not apologize.

She was appointed to the Lincoln Park Art and Culture commission. She participates in a roundtable discussion which is held at the library but I do not know what day these take place as I have not attended any of them since I have difficulties getting around now.
