On the candidate pages that Robin is putting together, I noticed an area that can be clicked on called "Notable Oops".

Why is it that ONLY Frank Vaslo's page has a lengthy "notable oops" area???

Nothing for Kandes, Murphy, Brady, DiSanto, Brown, Hiaggins. Everyone of them has had "notable oops".

Maybe Brady's page is still under construction because of all the work that went in to putting the "notable oops" on Vaslo's page.

None of this is fair and balanced. It reeks of bias and personal vendetta. And please don't come back and say that you're just reporting the facts.

A very prominent "notable oops" that comes to mind is the Brady cell phone bill debacle. I expect to see that on her page under "notable oops".

He is the one who got into an verbally attacked Iheart after a council meeting, he is the one who give quotes to the media regarding his colleagues, he is the one who thought he was in charge of the Cruise and sent out a memo saying he will approve all spending, he is the one who would have nothing to do with the Cruise once it was plain he was not going to be in charge, he is the one who left early during the 2004 Memorial Day parade, he is the one who tried to hand out campaign materials during the 2005 Memorial Day parade, he is the one is so thin skinned that he was extremely upset when The Flash kidded him about his old fashion attire, he is the one who walked around at the 2005 Cruise handing out bags of Peanuts saying Vote for Vaslo, etc, etc, etc,....

It is NOT bias to point out facts on anyone or anything.

Why must people be so quick to shoot the messenger...

• I didn't tell the NH that Vaslo was a self employed real estate agent;
• I didn't verbally attack a taxpayer on a few occassions
• I didn't send a letter to many people putting myself in charge of the Cruise Committee and in fact wasn't
• I didn't put my mug in front of the reporter and trash my peers
• there is more but I have things to do today and that list would be too long. Just go to the Ask Councilman Vaslo forum. It's all there.

As far as Vaslo's incumbent page on How They Voted having the Oops section..... I already explained to everyone that this site is a work in progress and that I am doing what I can in the time permitted.



My question to you is ..... are any of the points identified in Valso's OOPS section incorrect?


I asked SEVERAL times for input from all of the members here...... the poster of this issue did NOT offer one thing to add to any of the incumbent's performance pages.


At present, Vaslo, Murphy and Kandes performance pages are up. The rest will be done time permitting as I have said at least two times in other posts.

It seems that the bias comes in when people DON'T WANT to know the FACTS and they try to discredit not only the documentation but the people that share the facts.

I hope someone can come up with an answer that is more original and more honest than that. Better yet, how about the truth? Maybe along the lines of, "We HATE Vaslo, we want to make him especially look as bad as we can. We're not gonna list anything about Brady's cell phone bill cause we like her so, so much and we want her to get re-elected."

I don't think the candidate pages are going to be in the NH or the free press so they are going to make him look bad, he's taken care of that all by himself.

The people on this site are intellegent enough to know what is going on with the candidates (at least some are) and to make up their own minds about who they're going to vote for and who they're not going to vote for and I'm sure that an update on whats been happening in the last two years isn't going to sway their votes one way or the other, just like its not going to sway yours.

I think Robin is doing this as a courtesy to the members of this site and I thank her for the time and energy she's putting into it.

Brady was given a $39 per month cell phone plan.
Every other City Council member was given a $59 per month plan .This sounds like unlimited min. to me .
Why was Brady given the $39 dollar plan that has less min. than the other Council members. Answer : SET UP !

Brady had chances at every MOnday night's council meeting to say EXACTLY what you've said, but she did not. The NH reported, and the Mayor confirmed at more than one meeting, that Brady actually had the most generous cell phone plan. So unless Brady comes forward and says she knows for sure that she got the shaft with a $39/month plan, then I'll believe what the Mayor and NH reported especially since they got their info via a FOIA request.

In terms of time management, it makes more sense to concentrate on getting the accomplishments and positives out there about all the candidates. That's what people are looking to read. Just focusing on Vaslo's so-called "oops" is distracting and once again just screams of bias, dislike and vindictiveness.

Even the people who support Higgins and DiSanto recognize that they made a mistake on this whole road mess.

You hit the nail square on the head. Blind devotion to Brady and Murphy by core members is a fact. Even though Vaslo is not my favorite son, I can still see right through all the desperate attempts to discredit him. If you take jabs at one candidate, you need to jab all of them. If you credit one candidate, you need to credit all.

I believe our web site inspires people to get involved, stay informed and to look at every side of an isssue.

Is there bias in the forums? Of course there is. Everyone that posts has a bias, or an agenda that they wish others to know about.

This is true and I agree .What's worse is People believe things have been authorized by a vote since the city was founded and work was never started or paid for without a vote in the past. Disanto and Hancock have called Rachon and department heads on the carpet for not getting approval in the past. What made this different was people who knew when accounts and claims payable came up kept quiet and added a knew twist. Used the whole thing for personal leverage right before an election . Jean Hancock has to be having a good laugh . People who unseated her have made her look like a Saint in Lincoln Park politics. Mondon too has got to have at least a little chuckle .
