Arts/Cultural Commission discussion meeting August 22 2005
I didn't catch all the details on this so please, if you know please post here. But I did catch that they were setting up this new commission but then I also heard Pat Zelenak's name mentioned but that's all I got.

Pat organizes all the summer concerts in the parks. I think he likes those sorts of things and probably wanted to bring more in. And as usual Higgins jumped on it and agreed to spearhead it with him. Thanks Mike! |

Thanks Mike for bringing forward this awesome idea! Lots of cities do it to bring together their cultural groups of music, arts and history. |

Re: Arts/Cultural Commission discussion meeting August 22 2005
the Cultual Commissission will be A 5 member appointed by mayor and council for 4 year terms. it will act as a adisiory commission to the city it will study and recommend plans for city wide cultural programs. it will promote, coordinate and devlop the performing and creative arts and facilitate communications with the State Council for the arts. I think this can be a great thing for our city ,I can see art shows at the Band Shell or in Council Poit Park . Maybe a concert series in the winter at the high school. Plays in the park This could not only be good for our citizens but we have some bussiness like the Art BoX and A&R music and if indian art school opens good for theml There are grants from the council for the arts that can be taped for these kind of things. |

I read somethin in the news herald about how they hope to get different interests on the commission. Someone experienced in theater, in music, in dance, etc. |
