Re: City of Lincoln Park ordered to pay residents
Please note this was from a lawsuit dating back to 2000. No one on the current council was on the council at that time. Thank you Mayor Sochocki and DPS for reaching into our pockets yet again.

Re: City of Lincoln Park ordered to pay residents
Magoo, check your council members there....no one was on council in 2000? And, I don't know enough about this issue to state difinitively, but I do not think it is a city council issue anyway, it is related to the county moreso than the city.... Can you please inform me as to why you feel the way you feel on this..like I said, I don't know much about this situation. Others please feel free to fill me in too.

Re: City of Lincoln Park ordered to pay residents
Councilman Mario DiSanto was first appointed in March 2001. He is the longest serving council member. Mayor Brown was Council President at the time. So let me correct myself. Thank you fomer Mayor Sochocki, present Mayor Brown and DPS for reaching into our pockets yet again. And thank you City Attorney Zelenak for losing another case. I am being |

Re: City of Lincoln Park ordered to pay residents
I thought I read that Wayne County was paying the Lincoln Park share. Please make my check payable to IMA Taxpayer. My accountant will know how to handle this. |

Dear Friends, now Mr. Magoo is blaming the rain on former Mayor Sochocki. This is a very desperate (and misplaced) attempt to blame someone...This is so sad that someone has to keep trying to blame someone for acts of Nature. The Sept 10 and 11th rains in 2000 were listed as once every 100 year rains...And Mr Magoo is BLAMING poor Mr Sochocki (&DPS). So very typical of Mr. Magoo, as I have pointed out so very many times in the past. Mr. Magoo has A LOT of equity in BLAMING Mr. Sochocki. He just "Can't " stop. Kind of sad if you think about it...poor sad Magoo. Pathetic actually. So tell us Mr. Magoo how the rain was all Sochocki’s (and the DPS's) fault. Should Mr. Sochocki have insisted the rain stop? Should he have delegated the jobs at the DPS better so they could have avoided the flooded basements from the 48 hour terential rains? Please, now that you have opened this CAN OF WORMS (read BS) Mr Maggo how the flooding was Mr. Sochocki’s fault. Dear Readers of this thread, I am sure Mr. Magoo will slither away from this negative comment like he has so often in the past. Mr. Magoo you should stick with trying to get your candidate Marvelous Mario re-elected. He has lost my vote over your sophomoric stunts with these uncalled (and ridiculous) attracts on former Mayor Sochocki. I think it is very pathetic indeed, especially for someone your age Mr. Magoo. By the way, Mr. Brown was on the Council at that time but you ahh, forgot that right? But it was Mayor Sochocki's fault...yeah...OK. (BTW - I definitly have pity on you Mr. Magoo, you are so desparate...it's sad, very sad indeed.) MARIO COULD HAVE STOPPED THE RAINS! VOTE FOR MARIO THE MIRACLE WORKER! |

Re: City of Lincoln Park ordered to pay residents
I am blaming the Mayor and City Council for the way they handled the situation. I was told Pride ticketed on gentleman once he cleaned his basement after the flooding. He committed the High Crime of putting the debris at the curb before Garbage Day. The man's basement floods causing thousands of dollars in damages and on top of that he gets a ticket. When people came to the podium with their stories, they were not allowed to speak. Is this how you treat distressed citizens? Rather than letting the citizens have their say, Mayor Sochocki listened to City Attorney Zelenak and told the people they could not speak due to "pending litigation" HOGWASH!!! There was no such suit filed against the city at the time. But there certainly was a suit filed after the way they were treated. I'm not blaming just Mayor Sochocki, I am blaming him, the council at the time, City Attorney Zelenak and the DPS. They knew there was a problem with the system and they ignored it. How much CDBG money was designated to Water and Sewer repair that year or the year before or the year before that? NOT A DIME. This year, thanks to the insistance of Councilman Mario DiSanto, the city has designated $200,000 to a Water and Sewer Project. About Time. Thank you Mario. My friends, the Rain did not cause the basement flooding as Rail1 implies, it was the storm sewer system. Had it been the rain, the city would not have been found at fault. The city was found at fault due to a delapitated storm system. A system that was ignored for decades prior to the Sochocki administration and a system that was ignored for years afterwards until this year. BTW: Rail1 if you would have bothered reading the ENTIRE thread you would have seen I corrected my first post and included Mayor Brown. He is just as culpable as every person on the council that year and 10 years prior to that. I thank you. |
