Re: northwest
PROTESTING THE UNION BUSTING NORTHWEST AIRLINES. Anyone who board a plane that was given a once over by a inexperienced SCAB mechanic deserves to have the da&* thing fall out of the sky. |

Good union member. Use union labor, or feel free to die. |

Re: northwest
Ever been to a fast food restaurant and not received what you ordered. Why is that? Did the guy behind the counter make an honest mistake? Did I offend him? Did his boss say something to distract him? Or maybe the fact that he is not paid well, and has to work another job after leaving this one. And due to the low pay has taken the attitude of "oh well". The airlines want concessions from everyone, yet they are still making money. |

Re: northwest
I'm not debating the union's disagreement with the airline. I'm commenting on the "if you don't use union labor, you deserve to die [having the da&* thing fall out of the sky]" rhetoric. |

I agree with you Stufuller. The above is a pretty pathetic statement. And then the Unions wonder where they get such a bad name. I support the Northwest mechanics. They are getting a pretty raw deal. Northwest wants a 25% reduction in pay, and the union counteroffered a 16% reduction. I thought this was a very resonable offer by the mechanics, and Northwest should have taken it. The one thing I will say though, would you rather lose 25% of your pay, or 100%? For me it is an easy choice, but for others, they would rather run the company into the ground before take that kind of paycut. BTW: has anyone heard about the Boeing machinist strike in Washington state? This is truely sad: There average pay is $59,500 and Boening offered a new contract with in average pay at $62,000. The union refused this and called it an insult. Now that is just sad, and if I was boeing I would just cut bait with the spoiled brats. |

Re: northwest
