Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
Taylor could be in trouble. He claims they are selling city property to avoid Layoffs. Be careful of candidates that want us to be like Taylor . we don't want to be millions in debt.like they are right now.

I don't think we have that much sellable land. We got a ton of lots that cannot have anything built of them. We have a lot of empty buildings downtown and throughout the city (who knows the environmental problems those properties may have) Our advantage over Taylor is that LP doesn't have anything of value for our politicians to sell. |

He is claiming increasing overhead is the root of the losses. Current Mayor and council have given up too much to employees and I think he was a former police officer there.. I saw the ad on cable ,watching the History Channel. |

Re: Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
I think its funny that either Priebe or Pitoniak are paying for TV ads at this point. Tuesday's primary in that city will narrow the field of three mayorial candidates to two: those two and a newcomer. OF COURSE Priebe and Pitoniak are going to win Tuesday. The other guy is a virtual unknown and those other two have a solid batch of followers over the years. I'm surprised they aren't keeping their money to use to fight it out amongst themselves come November. Tuesday's election will be a no-brainer for both of them. |

Re: Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
But if one wins big it could be significant. As for land, our M/C recently sold a piece of property for about $1 million. It was the parking lot on Southfield near the ACO. We used to have the carnival there. Due to this M/C mismanaging funds they had to sell or face a deficit. This after they added a 1% admin fee to our tax bills and retroactively raised our rubbish millage rate. And of course they say this council is so much better than the last one. What a joke!

Re: Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
Did anyone see Pitoniak's commercial on fox 2 ? I was watching Geraldo's Katrina coverage and at 10:50 p.m. Mayor Pitoniak was on TV. Content of the message was virtually non-inspiring and non motivational from my standpoint. But then again maybe it hit home for Taylor residents who are more familiar with the happenings in their own city. |

Re: Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
Taylor has had a lot of great improvements over the last 5-10 years. The new golf course, the purging of Crack Ridge, the new Sportsplex, the new development at Goddard and Pardee, etc. Whoever was at the helm during those years must have been doing something right. I used to think of LP and Taylor as relatively equal in terms of schools, home values, etc, but now it is clear that Taylor is leaps and bounds ahead of LP. Maybe some of our city leaders could take some lessons from Taylor's leaders. |

I thought Taylor was doing so good with the grants and everything. Maybe it's a sort of like the saying, Tbone on a bologna budget.

Re: Anyone Seem Priebe's Ad
I liked the adds . It speaks to a problem that growing cities have . Do they want to be wall to wall Houses or retain some free space ? |
