Teens back to school
Very glad to see the students have returned to the classroom. Because of "spring break" the fast food restaurants were using a lot of the "teen help" during the daytime last week. PROBLEMS were rampant. The wife said she did not notice any problems, but I did. I will be looking forward to our morning coffee without having some pimply faced kid waiting on us. I hope their time off have motivated them to study during their last couple of months of school.

I didn't have as much fried foods and sweets in my day. Pimples were not a problem. |

Re: Teens back to school
Reefers were only smoked by who we called "beatniks" The regular high school student did not use drugs. There used to be a small "mom and pop" store on the corner of Champagne and Fort Park. Rumors was that mom and pop were caught selling marijuana to high school kids. This was before drugs became a problem in the mid 60s. As I remember, this incident occurred around 1961. Of course in my day we did have some individuals who tried to get alcohol, but usually it would be 6 kids trying to get drunk on one bottle of beer. |

I see where you're coming from Magoo. I guess they can be irritating, just like those senior citizens that pull out in front of you on Fort and do 20 mph. Had one pull out in front of me today down by Stu Evans. Guess they just picked up their new Grand Marquis that is too big for them. |

Re: Teens back to school
Maybe your wife didn't notice any problems because you imagined all of them? See, the mind does a crazy little thing to us when we EXPECT to see things--we begin to believe that what we wanted so much to happen, did happen. Your comment about "sweets" is erroneous; there is a closer link to the amount of milk a person drinks and their acne. No proof exists of anything else in the diet linked to acne. Maybe we're all pimply-faced because we're stressed out. Why are we stressed out? Well, because we have to put up with old farts like you. |
