Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
To be honest Rocky, I think they had a lack of real leadership down there. This is not a third world country, yet these people acting terrible. I think that I would have tried to organize some sort of place to live, perhaps in one of the stores that were looted. They could have used the boats from Sporting Good stores, something instead of acting like animals. |

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
I for one couldn't understand the rationalization of the local government for Lousiana...let me explain....as they were loading up the SuperDome...i was telling my wife that they need to get buses lined up and haul 'em out of town...when you got a hurricane the size of the Gulf of Mexico...common sense prevails on this one....also declaring mandatory (not voluntary and change it to mandatory a few hours before the storm hit) evacuation and martial law beforehand would of helped "boat-loads".

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
Well I guess I am wrong, I just saw on the news Jessie Jackson Jr. blaming the president, I was thinking I wonder if Southside wrote Jacksons' speach..... Yep this is all Bush's fault again he caused the Hurricaine and he caused the Looting, but not the acceptable Looting, you know the people that were only trying to get some food and water, no Bush didn't cause any of that, the Looting he is responsible for is the people that took T.V's for home they don't have, Jewlery, Money from the slot machines, guns to shot at the people trying to help!!! Bush, Bush, Bush!!! Rocky |

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
There is a lot of blame to go around. It has been 5 days. We should be hearing the problem is getting the people to the areas where there is food, water and supplies. Instead, we keep hearing there is no food, water or supplies. No Excuse. Takes a day or two to coordinate, not five or more. I do not care how large a destruction area is involved. We have more resources than any country in the world. They have to mobilize. Get off their butts. |

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
They are dealing with 3 major problems Hurricane . Levee breaches creating flooding, and anarchy Nothing can be accomplished without restoring the Law. Murder ,rape and looting has delayed any assistance to begin. Aid workers were being fired at these people were unarmed trying to save lives. communications do not exist. On the bright side Fats Domino was rescued after 4 days trapped in his home.

I think it has been going on way too long. We have had more than enough time to get things coordinated. Send in the troops, send the supplies. Get it done. I hear Marathon is telling their gas stations that it is possible they will not be getting their orders in the weeks and months to come. Another gas shortage like the 70s?

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
The whole situation is dissapointing to me. On one hand, you've got delayed intervention to help these people out...but on the other hand you've got people down there acting like animals. I understand these people are grief-stricken and panicked...but use your head. There are many reports of "survivors" shooting at helicopters that are trying to drop of food or pick up wounded survivors. When a bus convoy is deployed to move large amounts of people, people fight and rape eachother while waiting. People are put up in a large stadium for a few days until something else can be figured out...and they light the place on fire. Give me a break. I feel bad for the majority of these people...it's the minority that is making things difficult for everyone. There are thousands upon thousands of people down there in need of assistance...a little patience is all that is needed in order for things to run smoothly. Every bullet that is fired at an aid worker...every supply helicopter that is shot it...every convoy that is overrun with rioters...it hampers the effort to help people and creates more delays. The government has actually had to quarantine certain areas down there and label them as "too dangerous to enter". The innocent people stuck in that quarantine are the victims. Unlike the Tsunami incident, we can't have civlian volunteers go down there to hand out food or water. No...we have to coordinate armed soldiers to escort them because the civilians are ****-bent on anarchy. Biting the hand that feeds you is a gross understatement. I read a report where a civilian attacked a National Guard MP who sent there to keep the . The civilian was trying to steal the MP's gun, and the MP was shot in the scuffle. What the heck is wrong with everyone? Seriously. It's embarrassing. And then of course...the talking heads on television have to put their two cents in and find people to blame. To them, it's not a natural disaster...it's a chance to campaign for the 2008 election. I'm disgusted with America right now.

Re: How long before Jessie Jackson??
New Orleans is a socialist city. The mayor should know that and bused all them people out of the city. If the blame game is to be played, the mayor of New Orleans should get the cream of the crop for blame. Leaders lead! |
