One Man's Opinion on the Candidate Profiles
I had time to watch the candidate profiles. Give them one more minute, they would be claiming it was they who make the sun rise in the morning. Talk about an EGO trip. "I did this, I did that......" "I" did not do anything. It was four votes. One vote does nothing. What is this about a "balanced budget"?? The council wants to take credit for balancing the budget and the candidates are saying they will balance the budget. NONSENSE!! By law they have to have a balanced budget. Why did they dip into the "rainy day account"?? To balance the budget. I thought Ms Lulko did the best. Hands down. Hate to admit it, but Mr Vaslo did a good job as well. Where was Mr Sochocki? Didn't appreciate Mr Rutherford's scare tactic about regionalizing the police and fire. If you don't like the idea, say so. Don't try to scare the citizentry. I think the government channel should place all the council candidates in alphabetical order or have them go first. Going last is unfair. The sitting council has too much of an edge as it is. They are on tv every Monday with their council meeting. Plus the government channel is showing their pictures all day long. The candidate profiles is for the candidates, not the incumbants. It is the one time they can address the voter without having to pay for the "priviledge"
