LP Businesses on Fort are about to have a tough time
Just drove down Fort street. I see the County is now working on the two Right hand lanes. This should have a heavy impact on businesses along Fort street. Many vehicles will avoid Fort street and those who do venture down the road, will find it difficult to access businesses along the street. I hope Rocky made some money off his fireworks sales because he may find the next few weeks very very slow. Rocky, maybe you can stand in front of your store and sell soda pop and potato chips to the drivers stuck in long traffic jams.

They are going to have the right hand lanes blocked off, and soon, it looks like they are going to be tearing up Fort Park, the barrels are strung down the street. What are these residents on the sidestreets to do when both ends of their street is blocked off? Seems to me they should have waited to do Fort Park until Fort St. was done.

Fort Street is not a city road. The improvements being made on it have nothing to do with the city engineer or the city manager. MDOT is in charge of that project, just as they were when they repaired other sections of Fort Street in the summer before the cruise. |

That means nothing. They have these new things, they are called phones and computers for email. It's called communication. Doesn't matter who's doing what, all they have to do is talk to one another and coordinate a POA. |

But poor scheduling or not, Fort Park is in desparate need of repaving. I think we can put up with the inconvenience if it means getting Fort Park repaved. I am concerned about the length of time it will take. When Fort Park was done in the North End a couple of years ago, it seemed to have taken most of the spring, summer and fall. We now have only a few weeks to do this project. Will there be enough time? Will Fort Park be a big mess during the winter waiting for Spring to complete the job?

That's due to the gas line problems. |

Then I guess they shouldn't have screwed around with the contractor situation. It's stupid to tear up both main streets at the same time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

The timing for these roads isn't the best because of the two schools (middle & high). Although traffic seems to be moving OK as of now. |

Re: LP Businesses on Fort are about to have a tough time
Mr. Magoo I was thinking about getting a few hookers to stand out front of my store, maybe I could make a few buck off of the construction guys!!! Seriously though I think I am lucking out on this one, Mid Sept to Mid Oct is our slowest time, so I will not completely kill us I hope, Plus most of my customers already know to come thru the back.
