Need opinions for ceiling fan design
I, in a tanget inadvertantly broke the ceiling fan in my daughters room the other night. I am replacing the fan tonight and had a thought of making some custom blades for it. I found two patterns I like that would be simple to duplicate and wanted some opinions. Her room is pink over 60%, which do you people prefer, the first or second?

I like that one too. With a can of spray paint, a roll of 1" blue painters tape and a can of clear coat it would be simple. I don't think the wife likes the idea though. |

Re: Need opinions for ceiling fan design
I like both of them, but with a room 60% pink, I think plain white fan blades would look good. |

Now that I think of it, it's less than 60%. One long wall and one short are pink, that's it. |

Being a moon child (born in June) I like the first one.

ROBBIE-make should each fan paddle are equal in weight or the fan will wobble and mess-up the bearings in the fan. Your can buy paddle weights (sometime they comes w/ a new fan) to solve this problem. |

Re: Need opinions for ceiling fan design
I like them both, why don't you put one pattern on one side of the blade and one pattern on the other side then you can switch them around. |

when I lived in my old house I had a good sized space between the top of my cubbards and the ceiling so I asked my Dad to build some cubbards in that space He put sliding doors on them and they were great for storage. I usually put stuff I didn't use that often in them because I had to get on a stool to get the stuff out but it did give me a lot more space. |

Theres a great new show on HGTV called 'Small Space, Big Style' which is very good. It shows lots of small homes and apartments that are much smaller than my little 672 sq.ft. house. Really good ideas! What is the size of your kitchen? Mine is 7 x 13 and we filled up every inch of space with cabinets. Fred made those pull-out drawers in two bottom cabinets for pots, pans and small appliances. I'm having him add shelving over the back door area right now to contain odds/ends stuff in baskets. Several good books on the subject too! Another good source is Ikea. Check out their website www.ikea.com for ideas. Although the Canton store won't be open till 2006 you can get ideas from their catalog to adapt with materials from the local home improvement stores! |
