My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
Tonight Mr Vaslo pointed out a recent Guest Opinion from the News Herald. The Opinion was of a State Senator who states the proposed Bridge will never be built Downriver. The Senator pointed out these ideas of building the bridge Downriver and nothing more than that. I have always said they were nothing more than a Brainstorming session (an expensive Brainstorming session since the taxpayer had to pay for these drawings). Nobody ever intended to build a bridge Downriver. They merely were checking out all the possible points along the Detroit River where a Bridge could be built. Good going Mr Vaslo. You and I are on the same page for once. I used to have a lot of respect for you sir, but then you seemed to have stumbled and lost your way. Perhaps this is a sign of your returning to clear thingking. I thank you.

Re: My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
Judging by the polka-dot tie and striped shirt he wore this evening...I'd say his thinking is still pretty unclear. I'm still wondering why he stopped wearing a coat and started rolling his shirt sleeves. Is he trying to look like he's actually working? Or maybe he's just hot...because his face always seems pretty red.

Mr Magoo, I'm not sure to what you agreeing with Vaslo. That you both agree with the Senator who wrote a guest article for the NH?

Re: My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
I had the same thoughts that the likelyhood of a bridge Downriver was remote. It could happen, but it would make a lot more fiscal sense to build a bridge between Zug Island and the Ambassador Bridge. Some of those proposals were really wacked out. Especially the one where the bridge goes over Grosse Ile.

Did you see Mr. Vaslo shine last night. This is one of the many reasons he will be Council President. What leadership skills he has. |

Vaslo and Brown were both right we need to folloe up on this . groups like this will continue to push it further until it's dead . they are now at the federal level the last stop. Local and state have said no only.

You are really fixated on Vaslo's clothing, aren't you, VS? Your constant harping on it makes it look like you have a big ax to grind with Vaslo. I think he dresses fine. And, as far as rolling up sleeves, a lot of guys like to do that. You read way more into that than you should be. I don't think he's trying to "appear" as though he's actually working. We all know there are guys who do not roll up their sleeves and do diddly squat. So your take on the sleeves is off base. Speaking of clothing, maybe someone needs to tell Higgins to get his suit sleeves shortened (about 10 inches). He looks like a little 9-year-old wearing an adult suit coat. VS, if you're the men's fashion expert, you need to counsel Higgins. |

I knew it would be just a short matter of time when the Vaslo camp would start taking pot-shots at Higgens. The jealousy and bitterness that they have because he came in first in the primary must be eating them up. I knew this would happen. Higgens had nothing to do with this discussion, but they have to attack anyway they can. |

Jeyhey so glad you pointed this out. It looks desperate and petty.

Jeyhey, men's clothing and style is the direction that VS took this post. Vaslo-dislikers tend to critique his clothing and style quite often. If they're going to do that, they need to look at ALL the council members. How come VS or you don't point out how ridiculously long Higgins' sleeves are? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones perhaps. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter if VAslo wears a polka dot tie or Higgins has long sleeves or Brady has a goofy-looking blond streak off her forehead. It's really how they perform the job. I hope everyone stops with that nonsense. |

I haven't made any comments about people's attire, so don't try and loop me into the debate. I just thought it was a low blow and poor arguementative skills to divert the attention to Mr. Higgins. He has nothing to do with this topic, Frank Vaslo does. |

Re: My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
BTW: This is about as useless of a topic I have ever seen. Magoo is sooooo impressed with a councilman that reads an opinion from the New Herald? Big whoppidy doo! Hey, I am thoroughly impressed with Mr. Kandes. He stated that the sky is blue, and I agree with him 100%! Way To Go Mr. Kandes! |

That's right, jeyhey, Frank Vaslo is the topic, Frank Vaslo the councilperson, NOT the clothing or fashion style of Frank Vaslo. Perhaps those who stray from this being about Frank Vaslo the councilperson need to stop commenting on his clothing. BTW, I didn't say that you commented on Vaslo's clothing. You looped yourself into the debate. Commenting on Higgins' long sleeves is just as stupid as commenting on Vaslo's rolled up sleeves. I think clothing critiques should be left to the fashionistas. On the other hand, if Vaslo's continue to rag on his clothing, then every other council person's clothing and style are fair game. |

YOU looped yourself into this debate by your very first post, BTW. You felt the need to defend Higgins suit sleeves and I felt the need to defend Vaslo's shirt sleeves. I guess it's a tie. No pun intended. |

Re: My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
Let me settle this: Higgins is not an average size man...it is difficult to find a suit to fit men his size. But Higgins always makes an attempt to dress professional. He dresses conservative and always wears a suit coat. To ostracize him because of this is unfair. On the other hand, Vaslo makes a conscious decision to remove his suit coat and roll his shirt sleeves. It's unprofessional. I might be a little leniant on him if he were wearing a suit all day and came straight from work to a council meeting...but we all know that's not the case. He's required to dress professional for a whopping 2 hours per week...and he can't seem to do that. Higgins doesn't wear ankle socks with his suit. He doesn't wear polka-dot ties with striped shirts. He doesn't loosen his tie and roll his sleeves. Higgins dresses conservatively and professionally. Sure, his sleaves are a bit long...but like I said...finding a suit to fit a man of his build is not easy. The difference is that Higgins cares enough to make the effort. |

Re: My goodness, I actually agree with Mr Vaslo
What if Brady or Murphy waved the article ? Vaslo comments on the injection well along with the bridge comments are important to this intire area . The council thought it was important to have representatives at all the Meetings for the Bridge They were upset at Brown for not being there . Vaslo mentions it and it becomes a none issue along with the injection well . Go figure !Oh It's election year!! |
