I hope you can run a meeting Mike! If this holds up in November you will need to step up when Brown is absent. Congratulations! |

Re: Unofficial Election Results
Mr. Myers, I am you did not win. I have a friend who knows you and speaks very highly of you. If you ever run for anything again, answer the News Heralds questions! Stay involved, you have a lot to offer and terms are only two years in LP! Looks like the team concept didn't work so well. Terrible signs! Should have just said Vote the True Blue Slate. Melvindale has often run teams and Taylor is classic for it. The signs in Taylor say Priebe Team or Pitoniak Team. Not everyones name too small to read and now that Myers didn't make it through the primary (UNFORTUNATELY) What do they do with the signs? On a different note it is interesting that 9 out of 10 candidates can be considered formidable, Lemuel! Higgins did about how I figured he would do. Magoo will be bummed that DiSanto only got 9 more votes than Vaslo. Speaking of Frank, he did worse than I figured. Brady paid a price for the bad publicity. The much-maligned Rutherford only had 6 less than Val! November will be interesting |

Re: Unofficial Election Results
Rule of thumb in Primaries. Pay little attention to the actual votes. Pay attention to the percentage. In most cases, percentages change very little from Primary to General Election. However, a Primary also tells candidates how much they have to campaign. I see McPartlin doing much better than he did, but doubtful he will make the cut of top 6 Brady is not out of it. Remember, in 2003 Higgins was out and Hancock in for the Primary, but in the General it was Higgins in and Hancock out Cotter was the biggest surprise coming in 4th. Brady coming in 7th was an eye opener.

I know Magoo won't agree with this, but does anyone think Cotter did as well as she did because people wanted to see a(nother) woman on the council? |

Re: Unofficial Election Results
I have edited the first post by Mayday to include a scanned copy of the unofficial election results. A huge Thank You for considering my hubby as Treasurer. Maybe next time! Mayday: Thank you for jotting down the numbers and getting them out to our community. To Treasurer Candidates Sochocki and Lulko..... Good Luck to you both and just remember when one of you take office...we have over $2,000,000.00 of uncollected personal property taxes that our city needs. Godspeed...

Re: Unofficial Election Results
Well I have to say I think Cotter is the surprise of the night. She beat everyone but Higgens, Kandes, and Murphy, but really was about even with Murphy. The totals came in about how I figured, with the exception of Cotter. I did think that Val and Franks numbers would have been flipped, so that is a little disappointing to me. I fully understand what DonDeigo is saying about the last election, that the numbers didn't necessarily carry through from Sept to Nov, but I have a gut feeling that this year things won't change much from now until then. |

As a rule of thumb, percentages move up or down only 5%.

Re: Unofficial Election Results
All I can say is: This is going to be a nasty election. The numbers were all very close...and there are some people running against eachother who share a deep disdain for one another. Throw in a few gutter politicians (like Vaslo)...and it could be the World War III of Lincoln Park. |

But even percentagewise everyone is reasonably close (except Lemuel) In my opinion, Cotter is in. She may change a position or two, but she will be on the council. 6th place will be a race between Brady and Vaslo. |

Re: Unofficial Election Results
5th and 6th place will be a race between DiSanto and Vaslo. They are very, very close vote-wise and percentage-wise. They may remain their places or flip flop. I believe Brady is out unless she gains a very, very large percentage to overtake FV and MD.
