Disanto points out that money was wasted on road reconstruct Moran & Wilson
In the beginning of tonight's meeting Council President Kandes chairing (Mayor Brown was not present but came in at approx 8:15) and before approval of previous minutes, Councilman Disanto asked City Manager Steve Duchane to address the residents about the flooding issues in the Moran / Wilson Ave area (Duchane was leaving the meeting early). Duchane states that the drainage issues were affected by the road reconstruction (road recontstructed and infastructure was replaced with new in the last couple of years). Bascially what is happening is Moran drains to the east and a Wilson drains toward Riverbank. What is happening is that the Moran drainage is meeting resistance because of the flow of the other drainage. He states that there are four remedies:

All that money going right down the drain (literally) Had Hennessey Engineering listened to Councilman Mario DiSanto in the first place, we would not have tossed away $177,000. Councilman Mario DiSanto is the only person on the council with a background in cement and concrete. You would think someone would listen.

Re: Disanto points out that money was wasted on road reconstruct Moran & Wilson
Well I will say this...for the longest time I didn't understand Councilman Disanto's point of views on some things. But if we were to really look at the resolutions and review the council meetings, one thing that I have learned about Councilman Disanto is that he asked the questions that most on council don't want him to ask. Councilman Disanto and I don't agree on alot of issues like: He really likes what Duchane has done for our city- I am still trying to figure out what it is that he does do - okay he holds meetings....ok fine...where's the City Master Plan? Where's the new businesses? Where are the specs and bids to further reduce the costs of supplies; cleaning; etc. Sorry I digressed a bit there...back to Councilman Disanto..... I was saying that I frequently don't agree with Councilman Disanto's opinons on issues BUT while researching the data for the incumbant's site soon to be a launched, I came across many of those "hard" questions asked by Councilman Disanto....(and FYI: In almost every meeting, Mayor Brown was seen talking to EZ while Disanto was talking to him which is most likely why Disanto climbs his tree now) and KUDOS to Councilman Disanto because he was asking some of the very questions that some of our community members posted. These were HARD questions....like how the City gave away the lot for the Condo Project for a $1.00; the issues surrounding cement road repair on Fort Park that involved breaking out part of the newly laid road because of infastructure problems; to name a couple. When we review the performances of current administration, please remember that it's not the number of motions and supports for housekeeping items such as approval of minutes; accounts payable provided no unsual amounts are being paid; or by the number of resolutions presented by an individual council person/mayor but it is the quality of the decisions (votes) that they make; the desire to keep our community informed of everything allowable under the law such as selling city owned property for a buck; the desire to help make our Lincoln Park better by supporting the businesses, the city workers, and most importantly the people that pay their salaries US. I wonder why is it that sometimes when someone becomes an elected official all of a sudden they act as if they are annointed as "godly". Why is it that when some people gain an election seat, they care only for their political career and don't care who or how often and how hard they step on to get it? We have a couple on council right now that fit the above. Why would anyone want to re elect people like this? What happened to being "REAL" and "REALLY" wanting the best for a community? Your thoughts... |

Did we not employ an Engineering firm on this project? |
