What happened to the $100,000 in CDBG Street Sectioning Funds?
In March, the City Council voted to provide $100,000 in CDBG funds for Street Sectioning. This was less than in 2004 when they designated $200,650 in CDBG funds to street sectioning. This year steets repairs have blown up in the council's face. Only recently did they award a $293,666 contract for the repair of a few intersections. The council budgeted approximately $1.3 million in local road repairs and so far have only directed $293,666 to be spent. So what happened to the $100,000 in CDBG funds? And what happened to the over $1 Million in budgeted funds? Do we get a refund this year for the money we gave them through the Millage? If they are going to use it next year, I will gladly give it back to them, but let me collect the interest on My Money and not the city.
