Brady's Candidate Profile
Hello, I am Councilperson Valerie Brady. It has been an honor and privilege to serve the residents as an elected official for the city of Lincoln Park. It has been an eventful and fulfilling 2 years. I would like to Thank you for your confidence and your support throughout my term in office. As I begin here, there are several items that I would like to address. The first being the current state of LP. Secondly the necessity of team work in government. Currently blight in our city still remains a major sore spot. Councilman Murphy and I have taken aggressive measures to address this problem. We fought to revitalize Lincoln Park. Councilman Murphy and I realize the problems caused by the blight in our city and committed ourselves to rectifying the problems. Our first mission was to alter the procedures for our LP Pride program. The changes so far have given us positive results. There has been new staffing put in place which allows for our residents to communicate with a live person regarding a complaint. Additionally, new supervision and environmental officers have taken charge of the new set of goals and directives set forth for the LP Pride Program. Councilman Murphy and I fought to bring back the court works program. The same offenders who plague our city, now pay to work for you! Our efforts with the Re-development Ready Program are geared towards enhancing our business base and improving community-developer relations. We have adopted best practices and set standards that promote a more business friendly atmosphere. It’s exciting to see those efforts begin to take shape and become productive. We also brought you the first volunteer community clean up. Our Department of Public Service employees worked that day at no cost to the city, our citizens came forth and contributed to the clean up efforts. Our Downtown Development Authority purchased all the equipment and the efforts were focused in our DDA area. While all these changes have been necessary, blight issues still plague our city, torment our business district and decrease our property values. As we look around today, we still see far too many vacant buildings and property maintenance issues. As leaders we must face the music even if we don’t like the tune. Consistently we have worked as a team to attack blight. Team work is necessary in government. Every time you have an election, you actually put in place a new team. Councilman Murphy and I have fought for you, but we have not had a working team. When you come to us, we listen and want to help. In order for us to be effective, we need unity in government. We need unity in Lincoln Park. Realizing this, Councilman Murphy and I have put together a team of creative and motivated people who will work for you and with you. A group of people who will work together and protect your interests. A team that will promote openness in government. A team with management strength. Effective government is the first step in making our community a better place to live. With your confidence, support and your vote, this team becomes your opportunity for a better place to live. The future of Lincoln Park is not a matter of chance; it’s a matter of choice. We are asking that you make this committed team your choice.

Re: Brady's Candidate Profile
Hi Wolverine. I was given the notes for all of the profiles I posted. I would be more than happy to post everyone's. There are some folks who do not have cable and this can be helpful to them. So far I have done Brady, Cotter, Myers, and Lemuel. If I can get any one elses, I will gladly post them. Want to know something funny, I haven't even seen these yet. I don't know when they air on WOW. |

They air on WOW (channel 10) during the day (8am to 4pm), but I'm not sure on the exact times. |

Re: Brady's Candidate Profile
They loop after the Wendnesday rerun of Monday night council meetings. The rerun airs at 10:00am (I think). As soon as the meeting is over, the profiles air.

That us the way it;s been Magoo ., Murphy and I , I did , I work hard . Not a team attitude, There should be more of what they plan to do financially. It's nice to revitalize old ideas that failed ,to claim the first Fort St clean up just happened wasn't right . People planted flowers and businesses cleaned up Fort back to when Mondon was on the council. Old man Wells used to complain about the money he spent on evergreens for planyers infront of his property. He said the city will just rip it out ,and they did, |
