Lincoln Park Crime News
The News Herald actually had some news on Lincoln Park in the Off The Blotter section. This is the section which lists some of the crime in the area. I will post the items they had. A few members on these forums stated they feel it makes the city look bad when such items are in the newspaper. But I suggest you take a look at the first item. It discusses an arrest made of three people who were suspected of being behind a rash of break-ins. I ask you. How can you be aware of break-ins in your neighborhood if the police do not pass along this information? I do not care if it makes the city look bad, I would like to know of problems in my neighborhood.

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
Three people believed to be responsible for a number of vehicle break-ins have been arrested. Two men, ages 25 and 17 and a 14 year old juvenile were arrested about 4:14am Wednesday for allegedly breaking into a vehicle in the 1400 block of Paris. During questioning, officers concluded the trio is responsible for a rash of similar break-ins over the last few weeks. Merchandise found at one of their homes matches the descriptions of items reported stolen. Charges are pending for the two adults. The 14 year old's case has been turned over to juvenile court. |

An 80 year old woman said she was raking leaves outside her house in the 600 block of New York on Tuesday when someone walked into her house and stole her purse. While she was doing outside work and cleaning out the garage, she said her front door was open. She noticed her purse missing when she went back inside. |

Vandals have targeted two Halloween displays in recent days. A wooden Scooby Doo statue was stolen from the front yard of a house in the 1500 block of LeJeune on October 14. Ten otehr statues were untouched. Scooby was found down the block. A blow up pumpkin was stolen from the front yard of a house in the 600 block of Mayflower on October 14. |

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
I am sure jeyhey does not want to hear this and he probably will say it never happened. THe reason citizens form Neighborhood Watches is to keep an eye on each other's property and to make everyone aware of problems in the neighborhood (supplied by the police department to the Block Captain).

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
Come on Magoo, show me a post where I said crime does not happen in LP. I agree that petty theft such as those listed above should appear in the NH, just as the bigger crimes like huge Cocaine labs in Riverview should. |

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
jeyhey you are always claiming that crime is WAY DOWN in Lincoln Park. We know crime is up. At least those who keep their eyes open. Are you claiming you never wrote that posting crime news in the papers give a bad perception of the city to outsiders and should not be posted? An honest answer please. |

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
No, I am saying that I never said there was no crime in LP. I also claimed that violent crime was down. This is proved in the a Detroit Free Press article last week. I have mixed feelings about reports in the NH. Obviously the chief of police agrees with me. Kinda like the fire chief agrees with you about candles in the home. |

Remember the thread about a person trying to report a crime and getting the run around? That is my REPORTED crime is down. If you call the police to say you were mugged and told it is shift change so you have to call back, most people don't bother. |

Re: Lincoln Park Crime News
I think we should be aware of the crime that is happening in our city. It will help us to keep our eyes and ears open to what is going on around us. |
