Questions about City Council Agenda 10/03/05
City Council Agenda
Monday, October 24, 20051. Presentation by the Black Tie Committee Is the event just before the Cruise Event? 2. Award Bid - DPS Automated Gates This is LONG overdue. Does this mean that our towing contractor can't park towed vehicles in the DPS driveway anymore? Was the city towing contractor's place of storage identified in the new contract. I ask cuz I am too lazy to go look .. 5. Open Bids - Street Lighting - DDA Area This is for the first set of new lighting for the Southfield/Fort area correct? They are changing out the lights in stages I believe. Yo Leslie..... can you fill us in on this? 7. Authorize Lease - New Front End Loader Doesn't DPS already have one of these? Why do we need a new one? Just asking cuz we are so tight on our budget. What is REALLY going to be interesting is how this Cloverlawn and Capital Street Sectioning was approved and if indeed the money to cover these two street sectionings was paid out of the General Fund. I checked the resolutions 04-399 and 04-400 CLEARLY states that designation of streets are to be approved by Mayor & Council. I could not find a resolution 6 months before or after the above resolutions wherein M&C approved these two streets for street sectioning. Yep..... Monday nite is going to be verrrrry interesting indeed.

Robin, I have looked all over for a resolution on this and I also found nothing.

The Black Tie presentation is probably them handing out the checks from the money they raised. |

I wonder who will get the money. Each year they usually pick a charity. I think it was the Children's Burn Center last year. |

Re: Questions about City Council Agenda 10/03/05
Children's Burn Center is a worthy cause, but not a Lincoln Park business. If the Black Tie is on the agenda to present a check, they most likely are giving some of the fundraising money to something local. With Ms Mondon being on the EDC, I would guess that is who will be getting a check.

I think they split it. Half to a city function and the other half to a charity of their choosing. |
