Jaycee's Haunted House on Fort
I was thinking when I seen that the Jaycee's setup a haunted house in an empty building pretty much at the corner Fort and I think Northline (could be Eureka). I think that what our city could use is an "EVENT'S Committee/Commission". This group of people would be the ones to put together our Holiday events, summer events, etc. This would move these responsibilities from our understaffed depts to these appointed collection of people. Anyway...... your thoughts....

Re: Jaycee's Haunted House on Fort
Is there still a Jaycees chapter in Lincoln Park? It used to be very influential in LP, but I have not heard about them in years.

Re: Jaycee's Haunted House on Fort
Wyandotte does that yearly. It's at Fort and Oak this year. Then they tear the building down.

Wyandotte always has awesome haunted houses, using a building that is up for demolition. I never did care for Haunted semi-trailers. |

Re: Jaycee's Haunted House on Fort
The Wyandotte Jaycees and the Jay-teens put the haunted houses together. For the past couple years it was at the Wyandotte Theater. This year it's on the corner of Fort and Oak where the Hungarian Kitchen and an Used Auto Dealer use to be. My son was involved in this last year. They literally gut the building and build a haunted place inside. They put a lot of hours into this, beginning in August. Typically early in August, a representative from the Jaycees would attend a Council meeting and announce where the haunted house will be and request volunteers from teenager and adults. They get a pretty good response each year, and most of the times the volunteers become Jaycee or Jay-teen members. It would be great to see this happnening in Lincoln Park. It's nice to see teenagers and adults working together in harmony, putting ideas together, hearing each other out until a master plan is set.
