Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
If I may aanswer for Miss Brady The first week we just voted to establish one .It had to be worked out what the council wanted the new commishion to do (who could be on it or and so on ). Than to vote it into the ordinances book it must have 3 readings. So if any changes need to be made you have 3 chances to make them. You may have noticed we made some on the floor last week. |

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
At least Vaslo was being honest when he said he didn't wanna hear what the average citizen had to say about repairing the roads. The others will pretend to listen, but when it comes to making a decision, this commission will carry very little weight with them. |

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
They used to have a commission (or should I say committee) which would recommend which roads to repair. They did a lot of work putting together a list of the worse roads and which should be repaired in what order. They especially made sure the North End was looked after. Council would say thanks for the list and then toss it in the round file. |

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
The city cannot find residents willing to serve on the commissions they already have. It will be difficult to find enough residents to serve on this commission. Residents have observed the problems faced by their neighbors who do serve on commissions. They have witnessed retalitations by mayor and council when a commissioner stands up and does what they think is best. Why put up with this nonsense for no pay and no recognition? I have the utmost respect for those who do serve on commissions, but I also understand why others care not to serve.

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
I'm surprised none of the recently retired DPS guys didn't jump to be on this commission. |

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
This is yet another boondogle of Val Brady's and is her attempt to appear knowledgable and adding value to her ill fated re-election effort. Perhaps that is the reason no residents have stepped forward to participate. That and perhaps no one has the qualifications to serve. |

Re: Street Maintanance, Reconstruction Commission
I think the mayor said he was going to bring forth some names to be on this commission at next week's council meeting. |

I sense alot of hostility in the quote above. This type of negativity gives the impression that the author of the post has an issue with Councilwomen Brady and has no real imput on the program itself. That's too bad that people need to continue using personal feelings as their guiding compass to discuss the direction and positive imput for city related issues. What is your suggestion to improve or correct this issue. And from what I am reading here this program is viable and will happen, so whats the point of your vindictivness? Willing to share? Sorry, I just hate seeing post like this one. I will try to restrain from expressing my distaste for post of this nature that do nothing but spread hate. |
