America's Economic Future!!
Here is my perdiction for the the State of America over the next 10 years or so. First lets take a look at the past, Regan set things in motion with his econmic plan and kicked the Soviet Unions butt in the COld war, which led to a huge deficet but his economic polices helped to stimulate the economy for the next 15 to 20 years, Geroge Bush gets elected, the Economy was doing OK not great but OK but moving forward, his and Regans Economic Policies help many a large corperation to invest into the future, create design, spend money on research and developement. Then comes Bill Clinton, a very suave and extreamly smart President who inherited an Economy that was just starting to explode do to all the new technology that was being developed, as luck would have it the Economy did explod the Market went crazy and everyone made money, and all to many gave Bill Clinton all the credit, of course because they are brain washed into their parties way of thinking. Now Bill Clinton did deserve some of the credit, but so did the former administrations, do you think that all this technology was developed in the few short months that Clinton was President???? Of course not , but President Clinton very wisely let the Economy go he did not try to push his influence on it, and things where go. Unfortunately most of the people especially the ones that whine now, did not listen to many of the advisors in their own parties ( Clintons ) camp, Thats right President Clint himself was smart enough to realize that the bubble could not last for ever, that it was artifical, many many professional market advisors, told people not to put all of their eggs in one basket, but in true good old fashion Greed, which I myself was guilty of, we didn't listen. SO six months before Clinton leaves office the bubble pops, and the economy starts heading south. Along comes George Bush who inherits a failing economy, and Bam all of a suddenly its his fault!!! Even though at the present time most of the country is doing pretty good, partly due to Bushs tax cuts and partly because the economy will always adjust itself, except Michigan ( Which needs to look within ). So now a days I am constantly hearing stuff like " When Clinton was in office I made Money , when Bush came into office I lost money) Statements made like this are made by people who really arn't smart enough to be investing and they shouldn't be, cause they don't understand the Market, they really beleave that the minute someone is Elected they can magically dictate the market..... So now lets fast forward, right now every dirtbag in Hollywood and every sumbag in Wahington is going to use the Hurricane to try to distroy the current administration in order to get ther party back into the White House and they may very well succeed. Here is where history will repeat itself, as sad as this sounds the Hurricane in the long run will be good for the ecomomy literally millions of homes have to be rebuilt, Millions of Automobiles are destroyed, Windows, Furniture, beds, carpet, cabnets and so on and this is just in the residential sector, the United States in the next 5 years or so will see a building boom that may be its largest ever! This means the Economy is probablly in for another boom, this also means that people will make money again, and people will credit whom ever is in office for it. So if another Democrat gets in you will be hearing things like, " See as soon as a Democrat gets in the Economy takes, off, and if this happens it will be a blow that the Republican's may never rebound from! Because people don't wanna hear the truth, which is .....that if I were President I am pretty sure the next 5 to 10 years will be pretty good. Its sad that people only see what they want. I have only touched on the economy side in this post we could argue all day about the War or the lack of the last administration to do anything or the poor job the current administration is doing and .... My purpose of this post was just to voice my prediction of how things may play out in the Enconomy ...... What say you!! Rocky |

rocky i have heard that wars and natraul disasters can certainly stimulate the economy, i agree i see home sales going up furniture, clothing and automobiles, people have to replace what they have lost just look how lowes and other building companys stocks do when there are hurricains they go up because of the demand. |

Re: America's Economic Future!!
I agree, that there will be a boost in wide spread markets due to the devastation. I had to stop watching the news channels just yesterday. All of this was sub-consciously depressing me. So many lives lost and displaced. I was starting to worry about allot of things I cannot control or change. For every cloud, there is a silver lining or something like that. But that sure was a dark and dispersing cloud. |

Re: America's Economic Future!!
Welcome to media blitzes! If it's sad, dark, and depressing...you can expect to see it reported on the news. If it's not...then expect the news to make it that way! Fear sells. Have you ever watched the evening news commercials? Yes...they must make commercials to sell news programs. It usually says something ridiculous like "What you don't know about your car could kill you and your family...tonight at 11". So you sit all day waiting for the 11:00pm news to come on. They start off with "What you don't know about your car can kill your family...this and other stories tonight!" But instead of leading off with this all-important story...they show you a bunch of other stories and clips. After 20 minutes and 3 commercial breaks go by...after you've sat through a pointless news report of a dog in Alabama who gave birth to 15 puppies...the news anchor announces "What you don't know about your car can kill you and your family...right after this commercial break." So you watch ads of "new and improved" cleaning supplies and the latest and greatest heart-stopping hamburger developed by McDonalds...suddenly the news report is finally on! "What you don't know about your car can kill you and your family..." You listen intently for the dangerous and frightening news. Afterall, you love your family...this is why you sat through 30 minutes of commercial breaks. The news anchor continues speaking, "Studies show that wearing your seatbelt can increase your chances of surviving a collision by XX%." Duh...everyone knows that seat belts save lives. Maybe they were just starting with the obvious...surely the news anchor is about to announce the real dangers. He continues speaking, "Well thanks for tuning in...stay tuned for a repeat episode of Law & Order. Goodnight." And there you have it.
