Bid to purchase large Outer Drive Property Referred Meeting 09.06.05
Much discussion about the only bid recieved on the very large Outer Drive Lot. The bid was for $35,000 and the man wants to put a funeral home there. Instead of rejecting the bid outright, the bid was referred to the committe for their recommendations.

I'm just curious, is this the property where the old hospital used to be? I saw someone doing some work over there. I thought it was purchased by a church? |

If that bid was too low, why doesn't the city put a minimum bid price on the ad when they advertise they're going out for bid?? |

I don't think they can do that Bean, I think the only option they have is if it's too low to reject the bid. |

There is a church group that rents the auditorium of AP City Hall. I believe they have a contract that runs two years. Maybe they would be interested in the property? They must have some cash, because they paid to renovate the auditorium in turn for the use of it. Nice group from what I've seen.

This property is by the other hospital, Kindred Hospital, which I think used to be called Outer Drive Hospital at one point. It is supposedly by the Ecorse border. |
