Attempted robbery at LP Restaurant
http://www.freep.com/news/cfp/3/vcop1v_20050901.htm LINCOLN PARK Armed pair change mind about robbing restaurant Two men armed with semiautomatic guns attempted to rob the Bangkok Star Restaurant at 1512 Southfield Road in Lincoln Park at 8:53 p.m. Aug. 23. According to police, the duo entered the restaurant and pointed a gun at a 54-year-old clerk, saying, "Don't do anything stupid; give me the money." The woman agreed and then walked to the kitchen to tell her husband that the business was being robbed. The would-be robbers ran from the restaurant without taking any cash. A 49-year-old Allen Park man pulling into the parking lot told police he saw the men enter the restaurant and then rush out moments later. The door was damaged from when the men forced it open in their rush to escape. Anyone with tips or information should call the Lincoln Park Police Department's Detective Bureau at 313-381-8378.
