SAVE OUR BUSINESSES Says: Park Resturant and Attached Hall
There has been much criticism of the DDA and the City of Lincoln Park Officials on the development deal for the new Condo Project behind the businesses on North Fort Street. The business owner of Park Resturant and the adjoining hall that he rents out complained as late as two weeks ago at a council meeting about the parking being taken away by the developer. It seems he is still unhappy about this:
Area Behind the Bank and In front of the Church. Cement tore up right up to the door.
This is the parking area tore out directly behind Park Rest and the Hall.
This is a shot of the area right next to the parking lot that is tore out (directly behind Park Rest and the Hall Rental).

What give Robin, If the resturant doesn't have Rats or even if it does, ( which beleive me working with my cousin years ago, who owns Invaders Pest Control, most resturants are dirtier then you think) but at any rate a post like this could hurt that Resturant!!!! I think you should change it, even if its true, no need to hurt their business. Rocky |

The Park Restaurant is complaining now .WHY He knew what was going to happen . He sat in the same meetings with Floyd Wells, The pastor of the Church and other property owners ,ant the lawyer that owns proprty on that block. Something ain't Koshered . What happened to the paint and wallpaper store It's been redone month's ago and is still vacant. Why hasn't the owner of the other Restaurant been complaining . He wasn't there when the deals were made but has more cars behind his business than the Park.

My understanding is ( Councilman Higgins or Leslie can you confirm this) that when it's all said and done there will be over 72 parking spaces. There were several different car countings that were completed in various times of the day and at the busiest day of the month and time there was a maximum of 42 cars. |

Ive heard the 42 figure mentioned before and that didn't include the spots between the Park and Aldi's there's a small lot next to the Park or the street parking . The craziest offer was the Adult business offering the field to the Church to use . The Pastor politely declined . |

Daly worked out the 42 eliminating a building. Irecall the craziest part the Adult Business oferring the field at electric for the Church to use , The Pastor politely declined . I was at the Meeting a few weeks ago when the Park brought in their people . something was planned out with someone before that meeting but I did not see them speak before . |

The definition of rat is a one who betrays a friend or associates. The city should think of Park Restaurant as a friend, as there have done a lot for the city and the DDA is an association which includes the Park Restaurant. Both the city & dda are betraying the businesses in that area by taking away the required parking space mandated by state code. |

I was told 72 spaces after the condos go in. As I recall from the plan I saw years ago the count also included the lot behind El Paso. And yes, Ray, from Ray's Coney Island was at the meetings 3 years ago just like Lea, National City etc. when the negotiations took place with Joe Daly, etc. over the parking lot. Joyce Seitz was the Economic Development Director then. |

Tom Murphy and I were at city hall the police dept. , fire deptand DPW.. first thing this morning and have aranged some more tempariary parking to help get the Park though this hard time. I have also aranged a for a meeting to be held with all the bussiness on that block to meet Bill Hatly next monday for some up-dates on whats going on when. After that there is to be a up date on whats going on with this project on the City web site as needed. |
