That's great! My son just got hired there today and we are very excited! It is his very first job, being that he just turned 15 on July 2nd. Clemente's is a great local business that hires within its own community and I appreciate that. |

Sheryl, does that mean we can get a free pizza now? Just kidding. Congrats to your son.

Happy Anniversary to Clemente's! They are one of the nicest families! After we started going there we found out that Fred's grandparents used to bowl with Ed Clemente's parents there. And Fred's uncle graduated with Joe Clemente from Lincoln Park High School in 1955. You'll be seeing many personal Clemente family photos in the upcoming Arcadia Publishing book on Lincoln Park!! |

No Lincoln Park business is more deserving. About time these people were recognized. We used to love bowling on their lanes. And we wait all year for their saurerkraut pizza.

I hate to admit, but I've never been to Clemente's. They have a small bowling alley in their basement, is it? That's pretty cool. I'll have to stop in sometime. |

Who'd a thunk that someone Downriver had never been there. Congrats to the family. Great pizza and cold beer can take you far, just ask Eddie! Seriously congratulations to the best pizza place Downriver!

I do think Ed Clemente will turn out to be the best State Representative we have ever had. So far he is getting an A+ |

Freshmen Legislators cannot get any new legislation though the House. That's just the way it is. So Freshmen must rely on listening and learning. And being involved. Mr Clemente is at all local events. All of them. Would you really want to compare him to Ms Schermesser who had to have a law passed to get her out from underneath. Mr Clemente is the best State Representative we have had since my old friend Mr Hart. |

I disagree with you. State Rep. Barb Farrah (Wyandotte, Southgate, etc) did get legislation passed on her freshman term. |

Re: Clemente's Achievement Award Meeting August 22 2005
Ed has not done anything. Not one piece of legislation passed and only 3 pieces introduced, two of which are tax breaks for businesses. Add to that that he is the only Democrat in the State House who has refused to support a minimum wage increase. Many of us knew his Republican tendencies, but we thought overall that even if he won, the overwhelmingly blue collar district would keep him in line. It has not, now that he was able to win, despite his true beliefs, he will simply be a spy for the Republicans in the Democratic caucus. By the by, he also accepted large contributions from the insurance companies and several well known Republicans, including a Republican State Senator! They didn't give him money because they thought he would be a loyal Democrat! |
