Why wait until re-election to submit a resolution?

When the canadate profiles were recorded did they have to get permission from the cable commission? Who paid for the electricity to film them? Who paid for the materials such as the tapes or the dvd's that they were recorded on? I don't really have a problem with the canidates doing these things and playing them on the Gov. channel but, they should have to pay for the materials that were used.

I would hazard to guess if they shut the lights off at city hall after the meetings the bill might be a bit less. Not by much but every little bit helps. When I pass by at 5:30am on Tuesday mornings alot of lights are still on, especially someone's office on the second floor.

$160,000 for retiree medical .I wonder if that includes the retirees portion of the bill. the have to pay a percentage of the cost . it doesn't include Dental or Optical. We pay this amount and more almost every month for BCBS, HAP, SELECTCARE,DELTA DENTAL ,AND OPTICAL in this accounts payable. Current employees should be paying in not just retirees. Many private corporations have had it in their contracts for years ,including the UAW&Teamsters. There were deductions on my checks from $60- 140 a month for family coverage.

I've been watching insurance charges lately

Who paid for the carpeting they are walking on? Who paid for the oxygen their were breathing? Come now, let us look at the relevant and "material" issues.

Councilman Mario DiSanto is absolutely correct. $950 is way too much. But that is the fault of the Cable Commission. These guys are trying to collect money from the taxpayer that should be paid for out of their Cable Service Franchise Fees.

Just what does this commission spend their money on anyways?

The incumbants do not need to film a profile. It is of no advantage to them. By now you are either going to vote for them or not vote for them.

Profiles are for the new candidates. It allows the voter to get a quick synopsis of the candidates. And it allows the candidates to talk to the voter without paying for air time.

The question is not how much we taxpayers paid for these profiles, the question is why we paid anything. It should have been paid for by Cable Franchise Fees. That is what they are for.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Congratulations Councilman Mario DiSanto. The Dean of the LP Council
