Here is one for you Mr. Magoo
Mr. Magoo, I figured that since you seem to think that Lincoln Park schools are so bad, given the low MEAP scores published for our students, you might get a kick out of this story... http://www.clickondetroit.com/educa...546/detail.html How bad are the Trenton schools that a student feels the need to steal the test......

Re: Here is one for you Mr. Magoo
If found guilty this young man should be EXPELLED plain and simple. What is a NINETEEN year old doing in high school? Obviously he is a drop out. He should not have been placed in with the youngsters, he should have been attending adult education classes to earn his diploma

Thanks for your reply but it's wrong. Mr. Magoo seems to know soooooo much about MEAP, I was wondering if he knew the answer. |

Re: Here is one for you Mr. Magoo
By state law the MEAP test must be completed by April 15. If I were in charge of LP schools, I would wait until the last day to give the test. Perhaps the extra studying time would raise our low ratings |

Re: Here is one for you Mr. Magoo
WRONG ANSWER it's been changed .. Next school year the MEAP will be taken in the Fall (October 2005). That's two MEAP scores really close together (Spring 2004 & Fall 2005). Schools that have failed in the past & fail this spring are in danger because they have to test again in the fall. You should have a field day with this one. Have a nice day |

Why do you give up so easily? They have the entire summer to study. Keep your kids away from the computer screen and place their noses in a book. |

Why do you say I give up so easily? I just wanted to give you some MEAP information. You seem to know it all. I'm proud to be a parent of a teen. Depends what a child does on the computer. You can get more information on a computer than a book. Computers are the modern age for learning. |

Kids should be outside, not indoors looking at a computer screen |

I never understand why mothers allow their teenagers to go to a suntanning booth and not force them to go outside and get the real thing, for FREE. If you wish a muscular daughter, knock yourself out. |

Where did suntanning come into this? Girls & SPORTS are meant to be together. |

I must say, I wish I had Google when I was in school. Research and references would have been a lot less time-consuming.

If it cannot be done quick and easy, it isn't worth doing? Why bother learning to add, subtract, multiply and divide when a calculator will do it all for you? Why get out and play sports when you can "role play" with a computer game? Why bother parenting when you can use the tv or computer to babysit? |
