Very Good Article Jason, that pretty much sums up the feelings on both sides of this issue as I know them to be. It also points out that Duchane is still very bitter over the whole Police Officer incident. I will have to pull articles out regarding that issue. I do believe after Duchane got the swift kick out of SH, that the individual in question was admonished of any wrongdoing. I like how Ms. Godfrey still sees the Good in Duchane.

Yes, good work Mr Alley, fine article. It is a shame that bitter people from Sterling Heights must come to our city to criticize someone who is trying to put their professional life back together. Nothing was said from the podium that was not already known. Those two should have saved themselves some time and gas money.

Great job on the article...except the heading.....It's not Duchane's enemies that haunt him...it's his dissembling with the Freedom Hill case, the many years of lying, etc.....So the heading should be in my opinion, Duchane's Lying Past Haunt Him.

Mr. Magoo, I tend to agree with you. Mr. Duchane is trying to put his life back in order and needs a big win in Lincoln Park to move on, if that is his plan. This is to Lincoln Park's advantage. He is and will continue to try to come up in the Winner's circle here.

Mr Myers, I would have agreed with you, and I am trying really hard to give him the benefit of the doubt that his bullying days were over after the ERI incident, however, his remarks in this paper about Mrs Godfrey, as well as his remarks in a news article about US, (which includes you) about us being harrassers and thinking we have control where we do not, indicates to me that he has not changed. Again, I wish I could say something in defence of this man. All I can say that is positive is I continue to Hope that he shows his positive side and Keeps his negative, bully prone characteristics out of the picture. He seems to have a real difficult time with that, and THAT continues to have me worried. |

I thought that the comments Ms. Godfrey made at the meeting were intelligent and words that should have been heeded. Having documentation proving he has completed his courses is not unreasonable considering the source.

That was an interesting article. I also learned some things I didn't know before. It also should have peeked some interest in City Politics for those who read it and havn't paid much mind to what is going on here in our city.

Hey, in the article Duchane says this person is exhibiting "civil Harassment" . Here's an experiment for you. Google Linda Godfrey, and then Google Steve Duchane. NOt only is there Nothing on this LInda Godfrey person in the press (save but a pdf of her on some commission thingie and a couple of articles about how professional she thinks the Chamber runs the meet the candidates show and a concern over a conflict of interest issue) and 20 million pages on Duchane ranging from him being kicked out of professional organizations, to being caught lying, to the Freedom Hill fiasco, to his involvement in the Detroit News Strike, to the threat made to Hawke Ficassa..the list goes on and on, Yet this woman who was very mildly mannered and soft spoken is a civil harasser. Lol.. I'm , that's just totally crazy! |

I thought Ms. Godfrey handled herself well considering the Mayor was sort of blowing her off. She traveled a long way to offer some sound advise and was given the old yeah yeah yeah whatever. When she was interviewed by the NH I'm sure if her intentions were to harass Duchane, she could have said something other than he has his positives. |

Brown did indeedy kinda blew her off. (Did he resent the fact that someone from SH had the gull to offer him suggestions--after all, he "runs" LP--not her!) But, then again...no one is supposed to question the Brown decisions! (He knows "what is best" for LP and its citizens!) |

Wanna talk about harassment, Steve Duchane? What would you label this? Harassment or Threat to do harm? http://yourlincolnpark.com/lpsf...read.php?t=3007 |

Good job to Linda Godfrey. Duchane can cry civil harassment all he wants, but any SH resident has the right to drive to LP and complain about Duchane in public when he has cost all of us over 31 million dollars plus attorney fees, not to mention that we are still paying for his health care costs for life. Ms. Godfrey made a good point. Lp should have held off the reappointment till Duchane received his degree. Working full time and long hours, so we are told, there is no way that he will have a undergrad degree by spring with 70 credit hours needed as it was reported in the paper a year ago. Another sham. |

Duchane will soon have a lot more to worry about in the very near future. Duchane always threatens libel suits when the truth comes out. There is nothing he can do he is a public official. I remember just one year ago when he was lying to the press (while he was secretly meeting with Mayor Brown) that he would never go into the public sector again, because his family does not want him to. He was mulling over all the private sector offers he had. He was even trying to appear before the Troy City Council until they found out what a fraud he was. |

And, if Duchane does not like this "negativity," then get the heck out of public office. (But, I'm sure his ego actually likes the attention.) SH will not go away. How could they? He cost them too much money! (And, after he is done with LP and moves on, LP won't go away either!) The sooner he realizes it, he';ll soon discover that we can't be intimated or threatened to go away! |
